"Yeah." Jayden said before his foot slipped and he had to grab onto another branch so he didn't fall and break a bone. "I'll be fine."

'You sure?'

"Yep!" Jayd said, going lower before jumping off and landing on his feet. "See?"

'Alright,' Chester said. He morphed into a phoenix and sat perched on the wall for a moment, before taking off and landing next to Jayden. He morphed back into a human.

"Show off." Jayden chuckled.

Chester rolled his eyes.

"Is it something where you like, have to shapeshift? Like, it feels weird not doing it?" He asked. It was random, Jayden knew that, but he'd been wondering it for a bit.

'I suppose. It's an odd feeling to put into words, but I guess I feel empty without it,' Chester said, a bit taken aback by the sudden question. 'If you know what I mean.'

Jayd gave a small nod. He couldn't quite imagine what that meant, so he tried and relate to back when he wasn't out to his family, and felt like only half a human because of it, like he was an outsider- or something like that, he wasn't very well at explaining things. "I think I understand."

Chester nodded. 'Yeah. I'm not sure how else to explain it.'

"It's a hard feeling to put into words. Is it like a hollow feeling, or am I thinking of something super wrong?"

'No, I suppose it's a bit like that. Like I can't cope without the phoenix.'

Jayd gave a small smile. "Alright, pretty sure I understand the feeling."

Chester nodded with small smile. 'Good.'

Jayden nodded. "Yeah."
