Maeve shrugged. ‘I haven’t seen you two alone!’

"Duh, that would defeat the purpose of us being ALONE." Jayd chuckled.

Maeve rolled her eyes. Patton came in with dinner.

Jayden didn't let go of Chester's hand, but loosened his grip slightly. "Thank you."

Patton nodded, smiling. He left without a word.

Jayd grabbed his food, which was some exotic seafood dish.

Chester grabbed some cutlery from the middle of the table for him and Jayden.

"Thanks." Jayden said happily.

Chester nodded with a shy smile and started eating his own food.

Jayd kept holding on to Chester's hand, eating with his left hand because he is now a leftie.

Chester smiled and sheepishly let go of Jayden’s hand to eat probably. -
Jayd smiled, still eating. He didn't know what the dish was, but he loved it.

Chester ate his too.
‘So,’ Maeve said, and by the time she used Chester could tell she was going to start poking around in someone else’s business, ‘How’s it going?’
