‘You’ve never gotten upset about something like that, love.’

Jayd sighed, burying his face in Chester's shirt. "That's because I'm worried if I tell you to stop defending me enough times, you'll just assume I don't need it and stop standing up for me." He muttered. "It's stupid and really insecure."

Chester held him close. ‘Love, I was willing to go over to Henry and punch him in the face,’ he said softly, rubbing his back. ‘I’d never let some jerk speak so horridly of you.’

"I know." Jayden held him tight. "I told you, it's stupid."

Chester rubbed his back, kissing the top of his head.

Jayd leaned into him. "I'm glad you want to stand up for me." He said after a minute, once he'd calmed down a bit. He was an idiot, worrying over nothing.

Chester gave a small smile. ‘I’m glad you don’t mind it.’

"Better than just letting it happen. Sometimes."

‘Sometimes?’

"Sometimes it just causes more fights." Jayden shrugged, looking up at him.

‘I suppose.’

Jayd kissed his nose. "Can we go outside? Get some fresh air?"

Chester smiled. ‘Of course, love.’
