Jayden finished his food after a bit.

Chester did the same and stood up, wanting Jayden to tell him what had been wrong.

Jayden walked out.

Chester followed. ‘So, what happened?’

"What do you mean, what happened?" Jayden tried to avoid the issue. Maybe if he pretended it didn't exist, it would just... Stop.

‘You got sad then told me you’d tell me when we were alone,’ Chester said, grabbing his hand. ‘Can you tell me please?’

Jayden looked down. "I felt bad for telling you to drop it." He mumbled. It wasn't a lie. Just not the whole truth.

Chester raised an eyebrow. ‘Are you sure?’
