Hazel nodded, sitting up groggily. 'What time is it?'

"8." Theo said apologetically. "We slept in."

Hazel's eyes widened. She hurriedly jumped out of bed and looked for a spare uniform. 'Why didn't you wake me up?!' she asked, throwing the clothes on her bed.

"I tried!" Theo said, grabbing his backpack. "I'll meet you downstairs!"

'OK,' Hazel said, grabbing a hairbrush and hurriedly brushing her hair.

Theo ran down the stairs, grabbing a banana and eating it for his breakfast while waiting for Hazel.

Hazel quickly got dressed, and her tie was half-done and one of her shoelaces left untied as she was in such a hurry to leave. She grabbed her schoolbag and some lunch money and hurried downstairs.

Theo saw her rushing and offered another banana. "For breakfast."

'Thanks,' Hazel said, taking the banana. She made sure she had everything before calling out, 'We're leaving now!'

"Bye!" Hazel's dad yelled from another room. Theo followed her out the door.

Hazel shut the door after them.

Theo noticed Hazel's messily done tie and stopped her, retying it.

Hazel blushed a little, and mumbled a thanks.

"You're welcome." Theo said, moving his hands from her tie down to hold her hand.

Hazel smiled and continued walking.
