"Can't you try?" Eli asked quietly. "I mean, it's worth a try, right?"

'Last time I used that type of magic, I ended up hurting my family and destroying my home,' Callum said, looking up at Eli. 'You really think it's worth a try?' He didn't mean to be rude, but was clearly upset.

Eli nodded. "I get it if you don't want to, but most of us agree it's worth the risk." They said quietly.

'What if I end up hurting someone? Or worse?'

Eli thought about that. "Well obviously I can't speak for either of your parents, but I won't blame you. Besides, what if that helps everyone else get out of here?"

Callum looked into the nothingness. It seemed to be neverending. He sighed. 'I suppose...'

Eli didn't say much else and just stared at the debris floating around. The debris just seemed to keep popping up everywhere, as it it was multiplying.

'It's destroying everything,' Callum said quietly, watching more and more broken materials flood around them.

Eli nodded, and a scrap of metal hit them in the foot. "Ow!" They exclaimed, chuckling.

Callum gave a small smile. 'You OK?'

Eli nodded and gave a thumbs up. "Stupid piece of metal." They laughed.

Callum chuckled. He looked back out into the nothingness, filled with the broken remnants of his home.

Eli grabbed a branch floating around and fiddled with it. "So... Do you want to go back to your parents?"

Callum didn't answer, and instead watched a piece of wood float about. 'I think I should try and destroy this thing,' he said quietly.

Eli couldn't stop the small smile spread across their face. "Alright." They said gently, standing up.
