Out of nowhere, a cat appeared from over a slope in the moor, slowly making their way over to them. At first, Deerrunner thought it was just a silver-furred cat who had trespassed onto their territory, and he unsheathed his claws. However, as they got closer, he realized that their coat wasn’t silver, it was almost icy looking, and stars littered their pelt. Every time they stepped, a starry pawprint was left, slowly fading away.
Whiteflame looked too shocked to move, staring with large eyes as they got closer and stopped. There was a glimpse of amusement in their eyes. “Do not be afraid, young ones. Your time has arrived, but you will be ready for whatever you face.” They stepped up to Deerrunner, brushing their tail on his shoulder. “I am Owlheart, a former WindClan deputy who died before you were all born, and I will guide you until your prophecy has been fulfilled. I was sent here to grant you all a special gift. Use it wisely and remember your loyalty to your clan and to StarClan.”
Owlheart moved to stand in front of Deerrunner first, tapping their nose onto his forehead. An ice-cold shock went through his body, nearly throwing him off balance. He wanted to yowl “what was that?”, but he knew this was still a vigil, so he stayed silent.
The StarClan cat went over to Whiteflame, doing the same thing. Instead of cold, Whiteflame shut his eyes as the inside of his body burned like fire. He sucked in a harsh breath, sinking his claws into the earth to steady himself. Owlheart brushed their tail lightly against the white warrior’s pelt before padding over to Blueberryhymm, touching their nose to his forehead. -
what the f--- is wrong with the italics lmao))
-
Blueberryhymn gasped when Owlheart touched him, a strange sensation rushing through him. His head was swirling like fierce winds and he stumbled, until it faded to something like a gentle breeze. He blinked a few times in shock. He knew he was on vigil and could say nothing, but even if he could speak, he knew he could never put what he'd just experienced into words. He could only look at Deerrunner and Whiteflame, dazed and wondering if they had just experienced the same feeling too.
-
Owlheart continued not to speak, brushing their tail against Blueberryhymm's cheek as they walked past. They finally stopped at Flowertail, tapping her forehead.
Deerrunner nodded at Blueberryhymm, indicating that he had felt it too. Whiteflame still had his eyes shut and had not noticed the silent gestures, but his eyes started to open as the feeling disappeared. -
-
Flowertail's ears flattened against her head when Owlheart touched her. She quickly shook her head as her ears started ringing. After the ringing died down, she noticed she could hear more sounds than usual. Feel each grain of dirt beneath her feet. See more colors. She saw the others indicate they felt something too, but that did nothing to ease her confusion.
-
Owlheart stepped away from the cats, flicking their tail and staring up at silverpelt. When they looked back down, their eyes had gone from a brownish amber color to a starry white, unblinking. “After the full moon, the stars will become amber. Four will become one, and one will become nothing.” They whispered ominously, turning away and walking back over the moor just as the sun started to peek out.
Deerrunner watched the StarClan cat disappear over the moor, trying to process what they had just said. Whiteflame glanced at them all, obviously wanting to speak but stopping himself just in case he wasn’t supposed to yet. -
Blueberryhymn watched agape as the StarClan spirit disappeared with the rising sun, clearing his throat. "So just to clarify," he began in a higher pitched tone than usual. "You all saw that, right?"
-
"the cat that just appeared out of nowhere and randomly spoke of the prophecy? i think so. unless we're all going crazy and we're hallucinating and-" Flowertail stopped ranting and looked at the ground. she could count each individual grain of dirt, gravel, sand, and other things that she wrinkled her nose at.
-
“I can’t believe that we just met a StarClan cat!” Whiteflame blurted out, jumping to their paws eagerly. They felt fiery energy buzzing through their body, and for a brief moment, flames shone in their eyes. “Another prophecy? A gift by StarClan? ‘After the full moon’? Great StarClan, something’s going to happen tomorrow!”
Deerrunner watched the white-furred warrior babble on about what happened with an amused purr. However, a chill gripped him, making him shiver anxiously. The prophecy would go into full swing tomorrow? What did Owlheart mean? The tom stood up, stretching his paws in front of him to get rid of the stiffness in his back. “We need to inform Amythestwing about this immediately. Cloudpaw too,” His voice was raspy from the lack of speaking all night, but it went back to normal as he spoke. “If this is truly the start of our prophecy, then who knows what will happen after the gathering tonight.” -
"Ugh, I completely forgot about that," Blueberryhymn groaned, sliding his paw down his face. He tried to look somewhat excited for Whiteflame, but he could hear his heart pounding in ears. Four will become one, one will becoming nothing. Could that mean...? No, it was too terrible to think about. He couldn't imagine losing any of them, even if he wasn't the most compassionate and caring tom. He cared for these three. More than anything.
"I think it wouldn't hurt to inform the leader as well," he mewed, stretching his sore limbs. "As for me, I think a nap is in order." -
WOW, I'M ACTUALLY REPLYING TO A ROLEPLAY! A MIRACLE! /j ))
“What are you all talking about?” A voice said from behind him. He turned his head as a dark ginger tom appeared, with Fishpaw and another cat behind him. Deerrunner gave a small nod at his mate and the other cat before returning his gaze back to the ginger.
“We can’t tell you yet, Rubbleflame.” He replied evenly, not giving anything away by his expression. Whiteflame immediately shut their mouth, obviously trying to and failing to hide their excitement. Rubbleflame narrowed his eyes but shrugged. “Well, I heard you say my sister’s name, so I was just curious.”
Deerrunner blinked, remembering that Amythestwing and Rubbleflame were twins. Sometimes it was hard to tell, since Amythestwing was calmer and more quiet, while Rubbleflame was chaotic and more talkative. And annoying. The only resemblance to two had was their ginger pelts and green eyes. “Yeah, we have something important to tell her. We were just discussing.” He beckoned to his clanmates. “Speaking of which, we have to go now.” -
MPFT SAME THO))
Blueberryhymn's eyes widened only slightly when Rubbleflame appeared, gently nudging Whiteflsme with his tail to remind them to keep quiet. "Yes, we have to go," he said flatly to the ginger tom. He bit back the urge to say "because it doesn't concern you", barely managing.
He got to his paws, shaking his fur out. "I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm exhausted. I think I could use some sleep. Anyone else interested?" -
