this is kind of overwhelming lol
it took me years to build the world I already have, and that's so far from done as it is
now I'm starting a new one? gotta make an entire new set of characters with lives completely unrelated to those of the people on HAVEN? gotta f---in make rules and species and events and whatnot

Name: Vira

Species: Snake Mutant
Henny was born with a twin head, which was called Vira. The two grew up as sisters, living harmoniously and regarding one another as their only refuge. Unfortunately, at 22, Vira became ill. What the two hoped would pass with time turned out to be a fatal fungal infection. The infection overtook Vira's features and, though Henny scrambled to find some information that would allow them to cure it, her sister suffocated after some time. The fungus, mutated and intelligent, bargained with the remaining sister- it could spread whenever it chose and kill her, but it would be much more efficient to have her do the hunting for it. The infection took Vira's name, and Henny, stricken with grief, allowed the monstrosity to play the role of her sister without missing a beat, finding that she'd rather be crazy than alone. The two are on... very strange terms. Henny dares not try to find a cure for the infection, knowing the fungus would see any efforts she made to learn more about it and put a stop to it. She gossips and banters with what now calls itself Vira. She hunts down prey to feed it dutifully, and in her free time, collects many different human artifacts. She's made a home in what was once a pharmacy, filling the looted and bare shelves with the different items she takes interest in. Some of her collections include: books, plushies, keys, mirrors, cosmetics, and cutlery.

I think fungus is going to be causing a lot of problems for a lot of people in this wasteland

so anyway all the trees are carnivorous
they're not sentient, but are controlled by a sentient system of fungus that just wants a lil snack is all
their roots pry themselves loose from the soil to grab unsuspecting prey and drag it underground to be absorbed into the tree
the only healthy trees remaining are being kept alive and carefully bred by someone
haven't decided who yet -
if we're being real with ourselves I'm just gonna use this as an excuse to make some of the weirdest character designs I've ever done -
An AI that once automated the lights and intercom announcements at a shopping mall has had.. quite a bit of time to talk to itself. It made a deal with a group of human(?) survivors to house and protect them, provided they do the physical labor to give it a more functional form and maintain its robotics. The mall is alive, and so, so dangerous. I wonder what kind of people live inside?
