Echo rolled her eyes and leaned against a tree, waiting for Heath to finish.
After a few minutes, she said, 'I'm sorry, but I can't with this dress.' She stood and grabbed the clothes Heath had stolen her. 'I'm changing. Don't you dare look.' -
"don't worry, i am very busy undressing this very sexy bird here. i wouldn't dare look at another woman," he laughs, and puts all of the feathers in a pocket of his bag. "who knows, i could start a collection and gather enough to make a fluffy pillow."
-
(Heath, language š±š¤£)
'Right,' Echo said sarcastically, though didn't take any chances. She stood a few metres behind him and changed as quickly as she could discarding her dress on the ground and changing into her trousers and blouse. The pants were considerably more comfortable compared to her dress, and we're easier to move around in. -
after successfully removing all of the bird feathers (they taste like burnt plastic, you don't wanna eat cooked bird feathersš¤¢) he ties the bird to a stick and holds it over the fire (they did light a fire, right? if not, Heath is imagining things lol) to cook it
-
(they did light a fire š)
Echo grabbed her dress and stuffed it in her satchel, deciding to keep it for future needs. She took her hair out from the knot she'd tied it in and let it fall down to her waist, before sitting back down next to Heath. -
(ok, good lol. i though i remembered Echo lighting a fire, but i didn't care enough about Heath's mental health to double check lmao)
"are you clothed?" he asks, knowing the answer is yes if she decided to sit that close to him -
'No, I'm naked,' she said sarcastically. 'Of course I'm clothed!'
-
he turns around and looks her up and down, giving a thumbs up, "nice outfit, where'd you get it from?" laughing, he turns the bird so that it cooks evenly
-
Echo gave a small chuckle before turning back to the fire. She leaned her head on his shoulder and cuddled her legs up to her chest, tucking a curl behind her ear.
-
Heath turns the bird over the fire again, flicking off a feather that he missed, then puts one arm around Echo's shoulders. "are you hungry?"
-
'Yeah,' Echo admitted. 'How long till the bird's cooked?'
-
he looks at the dead bird, turning it again. "not long, we can leave it to cook for a while to go search for berries and other plants to eat though, to go with the pheasant."
-
'Alright,' Echo said. 'Do you know which plants and berries are edible? I didn't bring my plant book.'
-
"i know some edible plants, but we'll just not eat the ones that i'm not sure about. it's better to be safe than dead." he stands up, propping the 'bird on a stick' a bit above the fire so that it doesn't burn if they take a long time to come back.
-
Echo stood up also, brushing the dirt off the back of her pants. 'Right. Where do we start?'
