Heath runs into the building, grabs an outfit that he believed you fit Echo, a jacket and a new pair of boots for himself, and ran back out of the shop, handing Echo an outfit that she would be able to run in, and putting on the new jacket and boots. "is it stealing if the owner is dead?" he asks, lacing up his boots
-
'I think so!' Echo said, still a bit startled from the body. She took the clothes anyway and looked around. 'There isn't a changing room.'
-
"follow me, i'll break into someone's house and you can change in there. hopefully there won't be dead people though, that guy's corpse stank so bad." he pinches his nose and starts walking toward a building a few doors down
-
'You are definitely a criminal,' Echo muttered, following him out of the shop and down the street to a fairly big house.
-
Heath knocks on the door. after about 30 seconds with no answer, he opens the door and looks around. "alright, no dead people, you're good." he sits down on the ground next to the door outside
-
Echo stepped inside, closing the door gently behind her. She glanced around and walked forward, but Heath's statement wasn't true. Under the staircase were two more bodies, one a man and one a woman. Echo's eyes wondered and she quickly left the house, unable to fathom seeing so many dead people in under five minutes.
'Dead people,' she said, voice quivering as she slammed the door behind her. -
widened not wondered*
-
(having lunch, I'll be back)
-
"dang, i wonder what happened here." he looks down the road and sees a cart. the man who was driving had an arrow through his chest, and the two horses who had at one point pulled the cart were dead with no visible injuries. "i think we should leave. whoever killed all of those people might still be here, or might come back."
-
'Do you think everyone in this town are...' Echo practically squeaked the last word, 'dead?'
-
"possibly. but if there are still some people alive, they have enough resources here to fend for themselves. however, they are probably in hiding. we are not in hiding, and need to leave before we end up like the guy in the clothing store. let's go." he starts walking toward the woods on the other side of the clearing with the mayor's statue, keeping a close eye out for any movement
-
Echo hurried after him, clothes in hand. 'For once you've got a good idea,' she said, though didn't say it in a sarcastic tone of voice. If anything, she seemed scared, and had only said the rude comment to calm herself down; which didn't work.
-
"it'll be ok," Heath tries to comfort her, then picks up a stick and sharpens it into a spear. "here," he says, handing to spear to her. "if anyone tries to hurt you, stab them."
-
'I can't stab something!' Echo exclaimed, giving the spear back to Heath.
-
"alright, fine, i'll just have to kill it then." he laughs, carrying the spear over his shoulder
