'No, at least not that I know,' he said. He looked up at a guard holding a lump covered by a cloth that was walking towards them. 'Now, about that food,' he said, face splitting into a grin.
-
"yes yes, you get half." he rolls his eyes. "man i thought that this old man would be kind and wise." he thinks
-
'Good,' he said. 'Anythin else before our deal expires?'
-
"is there anything that you think would be useful for us to know?" he turns to Echo, "and is there anything that you want to ask?"
-
'There is,' Echo said, before turning back to the old man. 'Why is this town under a conveniently placed cliff?'
The man smiled. 'It isn't. It may've been yesterday, but now it ain't.'
'That doesn't make any sense.' -
Heath laughs, "are you messing with us?" "there is no way that the town moved, and that werewolves exist. you've got to be pulling our legs."
-
'Believe that if you must, but I ain't messin' with youse,' he said, and the guard got to them and towered over Echo and Heath.
'For the girl,' he said, and practically threw the loaf of bread at her then walked away.
'Why can't people call me by my name?' Echo huffed, unwrapping the bread.
(Dinner, gtg I'll brb) -
"hey! wheres the food for the rest of us?!" he yells after the guard. "welp," he shugs, "sorry, i have no food so there is nothing to give you half of." he tell the old man sort of sadly.
-
Echo broke the bread and gave the slightly bigger piece to Heath, despite the orders given to them.
-
"thank you," he whispers and hugs Echo, and tries to eat without the old man noticing
-
The old man narrowed his eyes at them. 'My half, please,' he snapped.
Echo huffed and broke off a quarter of her own, giving it to the unnamed old man. He didn't complain about been given less than he was offered, and greedily took it like he hadn't seen food in a long time. -
*give's Echo half of what she gave him* "you didn't have to give him anything, i told him that i would give him half of my food if the guards gave me any. and they didn't, so the old man gets nothing," he whispers, barely audible to Echo
-
'He did tell us a lot,' Echo whispered back. 'Even if it was just out of greed.'
-
"not anything useful," he stays at the same voice level as before, "can we really use any of that information?"
-
'Indeed we can,' Echo said, shuffling towards the back of their cell, away from the old man. 'We now know that creepy prince guy knew I wanted to find the end of the world, and if my theory is correct, we'll be able to get back to the end of the world or maybe even close to Ephery once we escape this place.'
