Natsuki smiled, sticking her hands in her skirt pocket with a nod.

Nikolai smiled as well, and then the bell rang. The gym teacher stepped out and noticed that Nat was a new student.

'We've got a new kid today, it seems,' the gym teacher said, pulling out the roll and checking it. 'Natsooki Chong.'

Everyone looked at Nat, knowing she was the new student, and Nikolai offered her his hand for comfort, knowing how stressful everyone looking at you could be.

Natsuki took his hand, flashing a sheepish smile at the rest of the class.

One of the kids looked like they were about to ask Natsuki something, but before he could the gym teacher started talking about what they were gonna do that day.

Natsuki glanced back up at the teacher, still holding Nik's hand.

"We're gonna do soccer today." He said, and most of the students cheered and started trying to form different teams.

'Four teams of-' he paused to count the class. '6. I'll allow you to choose your own teams.'

Nikolai immediately stood up next to Nat, and two other kids sitting next to him joined their team.

'Hello!' said one of the other kids brightly. 'Natsooki, is it?' he asked Nat. 'And Nikolai?'

Nik nodded, chuckling at the way the kid pronounced Natsuki's name.

The girl looked around. 'Hey, you two!' she shouted to the boy who wanted to talk to Nat and his friend. 'We need two more people in our group!'

The boy shrugged, walking over to the girl reluctantly.

Some of the other teams were still sorting out their groups, and so there was an awkward silence among the 6.
