"Ah, that's understandable." Oberon says. "Would you be willing to tell me what your life was like before you came to the cave?" He says after a moment of thought.

'I could tell you if you wanted me to,' she responded, though didn't say anything about her life.

"I'd like to get to know you better." He said.

'Well, it wasn't too eventful,' Akari said, shrugging. 'Same thing every day. I went to Sunday school every week and helped tend to the house while my father and older brothers worked. School isn't too interesting.'

"Doesn't sound very eventful. Don't you guys have festivals or celebrations every once in a while?"

'There's Christmas,' she said, then racked her brain for something else. 'And Easter, but the readings and sermons are boring.'

"Only two celebrations?" Lyra popped in. Oberon jumped at the sudden intrusion. "Don't worry, Akari. We Elves celebrate way more!"

Akari laughed. 'Alright, what do elves celebrate?'

"Christmas, like the humans, Cave Day, which is the day we went into the caves -which i don't understand. Why celebrate a day of defeat?- everyone also celebrates engagements, since it's not that big of a village, and we celebrate the birth of children, since it means that we are strong enough for more generations to come." Lyra counts on her fingers. "Oh, and of course, we celebrate when the new chief is announced!"

Akari glanced at Oberon, then back at Lyra with a smile. 'That sounds cool!'

"With how gloomy and depressing it is down there, it's like we depend on celebrations." Rhugien said.

Akari raised her eyebrows, and blinked a few times. '..Right,' she said, not being able to relate to Rhugien's negativity.

"did i say something wrong?" Rhugien said, furrowing his eyebrows. -
(but it can't be facts 😱)
'No,' Akari said quickly. -
(He was meaning 'we depend on celebrations to give us happiness, so it's good we have them. Otherwise we'd be gloomy all day." 🖐😭)
Rhugien gave her the side eye, but stayed silent.
