1x1. And I'll start off.))
Sumiko sighed. She looked at her surroundings. She thought that something terrible was going to happen. -
Alex sat back in his chair, fingers still clinging to the keyboard, clacking away furiously, until he slumped. A couple dozen tabs were open on his computer: social medias, news sources, some less legitimate sites hidden from the search index. He was trying to find something.
-
Sumiko then let it go. She then went on a walk. She felt like something was off about her. But she didn't know what.
-
Alex peered at his dimly lit screen in his dimly lit room, the colors bouncing off the rectangular lens of his wire-frame glasses.
“Nothing suspicious…” he sighed. “But I know there’s somebody. Maybe some dumb--- yapped on facebook but eugh, I hate facebook…”
He gripped his mouse and strafed it across his mousepad, cursor flinging wildly, clicking hyperlinks and opening up new tabs. He’d take a sip from his Big Gulp then go back to the keyboard, typing seemingly random buzzwords into a search engine, fingers blazing fast.
“I need a burrito” -
Sumiko stopped for a second. She then thought about something.
"There's no enemy. So that's good."
Sumiko then went back to walking. -
Alex walked to his kitchen, a small singe still apparent on the side of the window where his old curtain would’ve been. He snorted, and smelled the faintest scent of tinged hair. He took a burrito from his fridge, looked at it for a moment, then clasped it in both hands like the handle of a sword.
He scrutinized it, the muscles in his forearm tensing but not crushing the burrito. He took it in one hand, looking at the faintly crisp underside. “F—- it.” He threw it in the microwave. -
Sumiko looked around. She was in public. She didn't want to show off her powers. But she didn't enjoy the sunlight. She wanted to hide in the shadows she could create. But she decided not to. If she did, everyone would think she's a monster. She looked up, shielding her eyes from the sunlight. She looked at her watch. She then looked back at the sky. She nodded. I might as well go get something to eat. She thought. She walked to a near Cafe. She then stopped. Maybe I should wait. She thought again. So she turned around. We looked to see if anyone was there. No one. She then created some shadows to help her not to see the sunlight.
-
Alex popped the burrito out the microwave, set it on a porcelain plate, and took a bite out of it followed by steam charbroiling his innards. “HAFSA HAFSA HAAHHH” Alex kept awkwardly chewing, trying to keep the bite in his mouth while throwing it around with his tongue like a hot potato.
After he had cooled down, he went back to his office-room and sat upon the chair, he was almost done investigating for the day but he wanted to check one more thing before heading out. -
Sumiko looked up and smiled. "Finally. Some darkness." She said happily. She didn't enjoy sunlight. But she did enjoy being in the shadows. She looked around. Still no one. Good. No one's around. She thought. She then continued walking. She looked around in town. She looked very hard, studying her surroundings.

(I’ma just name our city Millennia City, that cool?)
Alex booted up Tor on his computer and proceeded to search a variety of keywords like “super”, “paranormal”, “supernatural”, any dates he thought might be of significance. He scrolled, flitted through the pages and closed a few tabs before something caught his eye. He clicked on the link, an article from an unfamiliar newsfeed that appeared to be heavily redacted. He read through what little of it he could, but only could really make out one thing. There were indeed unusual occurrences in his city. The context of the article seemed like they knew exactly what they were talking about too, but all the redacted information left him with little more than a nugget of suspicion.
Satisfied, he closed out his tabs one-by-one, powering down the laptop before gently closing it and placing it into a thick metal box, not unlike a Faraday cage. He leapt out his chair with a brisk walk, grabbing his black hoodie and tying it tight around his chin. He snapped some clip-on sun shades to his glasses and stepped out the door of his apartment complex. -
Yeah that's fine.))
Sumiko felt a strange, unfamiliar presence. She looked up and sighed. Sumiko, you must be losing your mind. She thought. She then pulled her attention to the sidewalk. She focused on her mind. She made her shadows go away before anyone could say anything. She didn't want anyone to see her power. She hid it from her friends and family. She hates keeping secrets from people. But she had to seal her secret identity. She had no intention on showing off her powers as well. -
(hey about how tall is ur char? and we could meet up soon by ‘chance’ if u want)
Alex sauntered across the sidewalk, his step a little bit aggressive, confident, clearly a boisterous personality when he’s by himself. He looked around before leaving the neighborhood on his way to the coffee shop, letting out a sigh. Most the apartments were rundown, some outright condemned, covered i giant plastic tarps with a rickety fence in the frontyard.
He walked fast, coming up on a little market square inside a giant roundabout. He opened the glass door of a coffee shop, clearly family-owned by the lack of slogans and logos. It was lowkey, plenty of tables across the corner where the folk behind the counter couldn’t see, and plenty of blindspots between the cameras. There was another young man in one of the corners, elbows on the table scrolling through his phone. Alex rapped his knuckles on the table once, the man rose, and they dapped each other up before the man discreetly stuffed something in his pocket.
“Alex. Sup man.”
“Roddy my boy. What we diggin’?” -
Yeah. That will be cool!
5'6))
Sumiko walked into the coffee shop and looked around. A voice in her head told her to use her powers. But she refused to do so. She walked up to the counter and smiled. "Hello." She said with a big smile. She wanted to at least get something to eat while she was there. She sighed. She had nothing but a 100 dollar bill. She was very rich. But, she couldn't buy too much, or she'll be losing her money. She grabbed a 20 dollar bill and smiled. -
“Just s—- that people wanna hide, like usual.” The man, Roddy, replied.
“I ain’t seen anything for real lately, what’s up with that?” Alex nodded to his pocket.
Roddy put a finger to his lips. “All in due time, bro.”
“You and that cryptic s—- again man… anything I oughta keep a heads up for?”
Roddy looked up from his phone, fingers frozen in place, giving Alex a piercing look behind his tinted glasses. He looked to his right slightly, before going back to his phone.
“Someone.”
Alex’s brows furrowed. “Someone? Like… out to get me?”
“No, someone, here. Maybe what you’ve been looking for. I can’t really tell, it’s just a feeling.”
Alex shuffled a little uncomfortably in his seat, keeping his head down. He stuffed his hands in his pockets and looked back at Roddy. “Ight.”
