Matthew sucked in a breath, quickly wrapping his arms around Morrigan's waist and sliding to a stop.

(hold up)

Matthew sucked in a breath. He subconsciously used his powers to run faster to catch up with the blue-haired girl. He wrapped his arms around Morrigan's waist, sliding to a stop.
-
Morrigan gasped in shock when she was caught. She panicked for a moment until she looked up and saw it was Matthew. She felt his arms around her waist and secretly never wanted him to let go. "T-Thank you..w-wait how d-did you...?" She stuttered. She was extremely shaky.
-
s---.
How was so stupid to use his power? Not in his hero form, in front of his friend.
"I- uh," Matthew said, letting go of her once he was sure she wasn't going to fall anymore. "I was right behind you." -
"No...No y-you weren't. You w-were practically still at the door. I-I saw you. T-Then suddenly across the p-parking lot." Morrigan shook. After almost falling, and being out in the rain, she was getting weak. W-Wait...superspeed!?
-
"Jeez," Matthew said with a quiet chuckle, trying to get rid of the subject. "Let's get you home before you freeze to death."
-
"N-No! Explain!" Morrigan said stubbornly, even though she was soaked. "I'm not going a-anywhere until you do!" She stood and glared up at Matthew.
-
"I just did!" Matthew protested, his heart starting to race.
-
Morrigan scowled through the rain. "No! Y-You lied!" Tears were starting to form, and she did her best to hold them back.
-
"How could I have done that?" Matthew asked, frowning when he saw how upset she was getting. "Please come in the car and get out of the rain."
-
"No!" Her eyes suddenly widened. "W-Wait...a-are you Citadel!?" She asked, but it was more of a statement than a question.
-
"No!" Matthew exclaimed, maybe a little too quickly. "Come with me to the car right now, or I'm going to be late to class."
-
"You might as well just give me the car and run there!" Morrigan retorted. "No wonder you said you knew me in real life! No wonder Citadel tried so hard to protect me. It was you!" Morrigan was crying now, because she felt like she was putting Matthew in more danger than ever just by being around him.
-
Matthew glared at her for a moment before walking over to the car through the rain. He didn't reply, knowing defending himself at this point would just make her more defensive.
