George shrugged, nodding.
"What?" Nick asked, laughing along with him- it's contagious. -
"No ice cream, soda, nothing?" Clay asked skeptically.
"Nothing-" Karl said too quickly. He could keep the smile off his face as he hid his phone. -
"Yeah," George said with another nod, shrugging once again.
Nick noticed him hide his phone, furrowing his brows. "Hey- show me the phone!" -
"You're no FUN!" Clay exclaimed. "There's gotta be something else you want!"
"NOPE-" Karl said as his face reddened. -
George paused for a moment in thought, looking away. He shook his head, shrugging.
"HEY-" Nick repeated, lunging for Karl's hand. -
Clay enveloped his friend in a hug and sighed. "C'mon, where's my George?"
Karl shrieked and jumped away. He turned and sprinted away. -
"Back with Matthew," George mumbled.
"Karl!" Nick called, laughing as he ran after his boyfriend. -
Clay looked down at his friend and tightened his grip slightly. "Matthew didn't deserve you. He still doesn't. You can't let him have the satisfaction of knowing he's still got any control over you, because that's exactly what he wants. You need to break free, L-" Dream stopped himself from using the name this time. "Break free."
"No!" Karl called back as he darted into the next aisle. -
(wait- which name ? sorry im blanking lmao-)
"He doesn't know anything," George returned. He zoned out for a moment, not saying anything more.
"Karl-" Nick said with a chuckle, following. -
("Love". He accidentally said it earlier. You're all good Lmfao)
"You can't let him control you, he'll figure it out," Clay whispered. "Someone out there will love you the right way-"
Karl came to a stop and spun on his heels to face his boyfriend. "Yeah?" He asked innocently. -
"I thought Matthew did," George retorted. "How can I know?'
"Give me a hug," Nick said with an equally innocent smile. -
"It'll feel different. When you truly connect with someone, it's like your entire world lights up. Everything gets just as much clearer and calm as it is wild and hectic." Clay said softly. "And when it's true, they won't leave, or intentionally hurt you as Matthew has. It's the same with romantic relationships as it is with friendships. Sometimes you get to the point where you just...know. But you won't know until you get there."
"O-Okay..." Karl said innocently as he stepped forward. -
George nodded a little, although he didn't believe him much. "Can I go sit in the car?"
"Hi Karl," Nick said sweetly, hugging the brunette tightly and grabbing his wrist. "Give me the phone-" -
Clay stepped back and smiled softly. "Yeah, do you want me to walk you out there?" He asked.
Karl's eyes widened in shock. "No no no no no-" He said as he tried to jerk away from Nick. -
George shook his head, walking around Clay and to the exit, discreetly putting the Hershy bar on a shelf on the way out.
"Karl, you can't escape now," Nick said with a playful, malicious laugh as he pulled away from the hug and took the phone from Karl's hand.
