"You're so graceful," Nick returned, chuckling quietly.
"Thanks," George replied, focusing his eyes on the water on the nightstand instead of looking at Clay. -
"I am not!" Karl protested.
"Talk to me." Clay said softly and he rose from the floor and sat on the bed. -
"Are too," Nick said, making eye contact with Karl.
George paused, shaking his head. -
Karl blushed and looked down. "You're guiding me, I'm not doing anything."
"Please. I-It'll help. I promise." Clay paused and looked down at his friend. "I remember the last relationship I was in. He- well, he did the same thing that Matthew's done. He hit me, h-he yelled, he abused. He gave me emotional a-and...physical scars." Clay's voice was strained and tears filled his eyes as horrible memories resurfaced. -
"But you're learning," Nick said with a smile, glancing over as the music stopped.
George glanced up at Clay, pressing his lips into a thin line. He reached his hand out, gently grabbing the blonde's hand in reassurace. -
Karl smirked a moment before leaning in and passionately kissing Nick on the lips.
Clay used his free hand to roll up his sleeve. There were long scars on his left shoulder that trailed all the way to his back. "I caught him with another guy, in our room. He looked so much more content with this other person, I realized I-I was just a tool. A-An item. A way to let all of his anger out. He...He lost it. I had finally caught on to all of his lies, and he didn't like that." Tears started falling as Clay looked George in the eyes. "You got out of that before he could seriously hurt you like this." He gestured to his scars and bittersweetly smiled. "You deserve so much better. Matthew will realize how badly he f***ed up one day." -
Nick smiled into the kiss, his hand leaving Karl's back and moving to the back of his neck, softly tangling with his hair.
George stayed silent, studying the scars on Clay. -
"I love you." Karl whispered against Nick's lips.
Clay wiped his tears away but more took their place. "I-I don't even know what he used to- to make those marks. I don't even know what went through his head." Clay covered his mouth with his free hand and choked back a sob. -
"I love you more," Nick said after pulling away, pressing his forehead against Karl's.
George squeezed Clay's hand gently. "I'm so sorry." He whispered. -
"No you do not-" Karl protested. He leaned back and playfully glared at his boyfriend.
"Don't be. I'm just glad he didn't get a chance to do this," Clay gestured to the scars once more. "to you." -
"Bet," Nick said, grinning playfully.
George nodded slowly, blinking. -
"Oh my god, you don't! I love you more!" Karl exclaimed.
"Do you think you can get up for me?" Clay asked gently. "You've gotta at least drink water." -
"No way you love me more," Nick protested. "It's at least equal-"
George glanced at the cup of water. He groaned quietly, pushing himself up and propping himself on his crooked elbow. He grabbed the water, taking a small sip. -
Karl shook his head. "Nope!"
"C'mon, you can do better than that Gogy-" Clay said with a smile. His voice was still hoarse from crying but he was trying to sound optimistic. -
"Awww," Nick said, frowning.
George stared a the water for a moment before taking a swig of it.
