option 1: (realistic romance) (may or may not be based off a book i heard about) in this au, when you turn seventeen, you're matched with the person you'll be with for the rest of your life. c1 is matched with c2, their childhood enemy/bully/whatever we want to do. of course, they're mad, but there's nothing they can do. what will come to pass as the two of them get to know each other more. will they see each other in a different light?
option 2: (1800s realistic) c1's (she must be female for this to work) father died of a heart attack just last night. but he only had daughters... so that means neither her, nor her mother or sisters would inherit the estate, or anything. they'd be poor, hopeless. the fortune of c1's father is inherited by c2, a distant cousin of hers. "they'll be insufferable," c1 says to herself. and they are. c1 hates c2 when they come around, and, to make it worse, c1 and her family must stay at the estate until they find their own home. which means c1 has to spend quite a while with c2. but after a while of living in the same household, will things change?
