“A demon’s eyes... They lock onto your soul. They see everything about you, your deepest darkest fears, secrets, everything. They bring the wrath of Hell with them. They hold such hate, such malice. They have an intense, vile passion to kill in horrific and impossible ways. They hold a power that can't be stopped, something that makes you feel so insignificant, you might as well not exist. You’re a human. You’ve looked into my eyes. And you were completely unaffected. That’s why i’m testing you. To figure out why.”

Katherine couldn't help but shudder at his words. "You're not going to kill me, are you?" she asked quietly.

“Remember when i told you nothing would happen? I’m not going to do anything to you besides test you!”

"Well I don't know what those tests involve, sorry for being concerned over my life!"

Sighing, Aiden motioned for his brother to come over and help him search her eyes. For something. Something different.
“Have you ever been different in any physical way from your peers or anything throughout your life?” Aiden asked her. -
"Not that I've seen," Katherine said. "Besides me being an absolute clutz, but I don't think that counts."

He sighed once more. “I don’t know if any possible explanation for this.”

"So can I go?"

Aiden inhaled, keeping the silence for ten seconds. "No," he said. "I have to figure this out."

"How? What are you going to do? Play some Jedi mind tricks on me or something?" Katherine said.

"No," he said, his voice low and serene. "I'm just going to cut into your eye. Don't worry, I can give you a new one that will work just fine. It can have the same obscure abilities as well if you want it to."

"What? No! I'd like to keep my eyes intact and whole, if you don't mind," Katherine glared at him.

He shrugged. "Well then too bad," he said as he reached for the tools to aid him in cutting into Katherine's eye.
