"So," Ross began, trying to strike up a conversation. "What made you want to join the organization?"
-
"Well, I just kinda hate America," he said. But he wondered if he was trying too hard to pretend.
-
"Yeah, I mean I guess I see where you're coming from," Ross said hesitantly.
-
"And I also just kinda like what you guys are doing down here," Kaipo continued.
-
Ross nodded. "I'm here because the government arrested my parents because they broke the rules of a stupid bill. But I'm- I'm not going to get into that right now..." She said, looking down at her lap.
-
"Yeah, ok..." Kaipo said hesitantly. Kaipo was feeling a bit bold. "So what's your main mission here?" he asked.
-
"I mean," Ross began. "I don't really have a specific mission at the moment, but my goal is to climb up the ladder and maybe one day be the leader of the organization. But don't tell anyone that, especially the boss. I don't want him to know I'm after his job. Sort of."
-
"Alright, cool," Kaipo said. He lowered his tone a bit. "But whatcha gonna do at the top?"
-
Ross shrugged. "Lead. Supervise. I basically make just about all the choices. I'm not going to do it specifically to be in power, but I don't like it when I'm constantly told what to do."
-
"Yeah, I feel ya," Kaipo said with a guilty laugh.
-
She chuckled. "So, you wanna head out now?" She asked Kaipo.
-
Yeah, I guess," Kaipo answered. "Not much else to do is there?"
-
"Nope," Ross said in response. She got up and began walking to the exit door of the resturant.
-
Kaipo got up and followed her out the door.
-
Ross, with Kaipo, drove back to the facility. She turned back to Kaipo as she got out of the car. "You sleep in the room just to your right when you enter the second floor through the elevator in the far right corner," she said to him.
