Setting: Earth and its neighboring universe, which those from Earth call Parallel, but the locals know as Ambien.
Muse A is a special agent, tasked with investigating and solving crimes involving the use of magic, or those caused by the supernatural. As part of a program designed to increase efficiency, each agent has been given a new partner. Where Muse A is a skilled, well-trained human, their new partner is a member of the very class Muse A defends against.
Muse B, freshly hired by the mysterious agency, isn't exactly.. From earth. Though their ancestors were travelers from our own universe, Muse B is only mostly human. This assignment is a bit out of their comfort zone, especially with how hostile their new partner is- They've never worked with a supernatural being, much less someone from a parallel universe.
Muse A and Muse B must work to solve a string of robberies and murders, but the suspect is not who they think it is.
Muse C, Muse A's former partner, is not happy with the agency's new program. So much so that they apply for a different position- As Muse A and Muse B's direct superior. Since Muse C has been with the agency for many, many years full of exemplary service, they easily secure the job.
Though outwardly, things seem to be running smoother than ever under Muse C's command, they have a secret..
They're the criminal that Muse A and Muse B are chasing. Driven by the need to destroy the very program that brought Muse B to their department, Muse C plays a game of cat and mouse. Using all of the knowledge they gained throughout their career, they target those who put the program in place, mainly the leaders and politicians of Ambien.. Though, Muse C will strike where they must, even if the hit takes them to their own back yard.
