C1 never particularly cared about the whole soulmate business. They where happy with their pod and their family, so why would they want to leave them to go looking for a total stranger? So they didn't. And oddly? Their soulmate never came looking for them.
This went on for some time, until one fateful night when C1's pod was attacked by another, more violent pod; killing most of their family and forcing the few that survived out of their territory. Now alone, C1 decides to finally follow their string, in the hopes of finding a new family.
At the end they meet c2. A mer from the same pod that attacked C1's, but not willingly. C2 is trapped in their pod, unable to leave without help.
