Lavender disliked the ambulance. There were plenty of potholes in a road she’d never traversed, and the white and red vehicle swerved back and forth to avoid the potholes; Lavender honestly thought just going through the potholes would be a better idea.
Plus, she was shivering from the water, despite the jacket Adrian had loaned her. She almost wished she had her parka back now, but she knew it wasn't too cold for her to bear.
Lavender wished she could see the snow floating down and adding another layer to the already thick blanket that lay over the dead brown grass, but she was stuck in this ambulance. -
After a short bit Lavender was brought inside the hospital and to a room. They gave her a bunch of hot water bottles and whatnot and made sure all the water was out of her lungs.
An hour or two later Adrian came in to see Lavender. -
Lavender gave him a small wave, but was too tired to say much except for "How are you?"
At least all the water is out of my lungs, she thought to herself. But I still don’t know why Adrian saved me. She frowned at that thought. Maybe I'll ask him later. -
"Hey," Adrian said, "This is going to sound weird but I need to talk with you later."
