(Alrighty)
Adrian leaped up and dove into the icy cold water. He was stunned for a moment from the freezing liquid that surrounded him before he started swimming as fast as he could towards Lavender. The heavy coat was weighing her down.
Adrian got to her and drew out a knife. He cut the coat open and took her out of it. He then started swimming to the surface.
He dragged her to the shore where he put his leather coat on her and buttoned it up around her front. He luckily had another jacket to cover up his wings. Adrian whipped out his phone. It was a strange phone, but it called 911 the same in most cases. -
Lavender felt herself being dragged, and something being tugged off of her, but she paid it no mind.
Suddenly, her eyes fluttered open. "Wh—what the… Who are you?" she managed. "Why are you here?" she demanded. -
After the person on the other end said that an ambulance would be there soon he hung up and looked down at Lavender. His hair was an even darker black than usual because of being in the water and his eyes were as deep and blue as the river he had just saved her from.
"Adrian," he answered. "I was by the river and heard you scream so I went in after you." He decided to not go into the whole, Guardian, Lucifer, you're the only chance for the survival of the world stuff yet. -
"And you dived in to save a random person you don’t even know the name of?" Lavender crossed her arms. "I highly doubt that." She didn’t elaborate any more; she just stared off into the half-transparent ice. The sapphire-blue waters underneath seemed to be taunting her. What a beautiful season winter is, they seemed to say. Lavender bit her lip.

"I can't let you die," Adrian said. He might have decided not to tell her about the Guardian stuff, but he could hint at it.
He also looked around. "Not the best day for a swim, I must say," he said. He was obviously trying to not show that he was freezing cold. -
Lavender chuckled, clearly amused. "Not the best day to walk around a frozen body of water either, as if you’re waiting for someone to tumble into the water so you can jump in and save them." Lavender felt her ears turning red—not because she was flustered, but because of the cold. "All things aside, though, thank you for saving me."

"Trust me, if I had known you were going to 'tumble into the water' I would have brought a swimsuit and something warmer," Adrian said. "What's your name?"

"Lavender," she replied curtly. "So, uh, while we’re standing here waiting for the ambulance, what are we going to do in the meantime?"
A red plus sign was barely visible on the side of a truck in the distance. Lavender sighed. "Seems like we don’t have to wait much longer. Never mind." -
Soon the ambulance rolled over the bridge and stopped near them. A whole bunch of medics hopped out of the back.

"There are more medics than I thought there would be," Lavender managed. She felt the cold water try to burst out of her lungs. She choked and clutched her throat as a little bit of water sprayed out. Bending over, she cursed. When she got up, the ground was soaking wet. "Looks like I did a good job watering the grass," she murmured.

"Well I'm sure the brown dead grass underneath the snow will appreciate it," Adrian said as he stood her up and led her to the medics.

Lavender replied nonchalantly, "I'm sure the grass will." She glanced at the medics warily. "So, I guess it’s time to go with the guys with the red plus sign hats?"

"Yep," Adrian said.
"You too," one of the medics said.
"Me?"
"You went in after her and you're obviously freezing, there's icicles on your eyelashes," she said.
"Nuh-uh," he said. "I'll be fine." -
Lavender huffed but did as Adrian and the medics said.

Eventually the medics gave up on Adrian and focused their attention on Lavender.
Soon enough the lot of them were inside the ambulance and were driving off to the hospital, leaving Adrian on the edge of the river. He figured he'd go visit her later, once he warmed up.
