``Uh, only about a year or two,`` Aiden replied, running a hand through his hair.

"But still, how have we never run into each other?" Katherine said.

Aiden shrugged, chuckling. ``I mean, we could've seen each other and just not realized it,`` he said, shifting his board in his arms.

"I guess," Katherine shrugged. "So um what's life like for you?"

``Eh, pretty boring,`` Aiden said, tapping his fingers against his skateboard. ``How about you?``

"I wouldn't say it's boring," Katherine said. After a moment she said, "What are soulmates supposed to do when they meet?"

Aiden shrugged, running a hand through his hair. ``Dunno,`` he said with a chuckle.
