"I promise I won't tell anybody about your existence if you let me go." she lied. Renna would tell the police if he let her go.

"But I haven't completed my research!" Jathiern said.

"Does it look like I care?" Renna said, raising an eyebrow.

"Well I do," Jathiern said, regaining his cold, calm composure. "And I can choose whether to let you go or have you stay."

"You're not my boss." Renna snapped.

"That may be the case, but you can't deny that I hold most of the power to control what happens to you," Jathiern said

Renna huffed in frustration. "Good point." she muttered.

"Now," he said, "you need to eat."

“What exactly are you giving me?” She asked, narrowing her eyes.
