C1 is a mage, a fairly powerful one, who works in the police force protecting their home city. They have been doing this for a very long time, yet something is missing. Something everyone else has. Their Soul Mate. Normally, everyone is born with a mark, which is shared by their soul mate. People go out of their way to find their mates, often posting their marks online to find them. But C1 hasnt found anyone with a matching mark. Untill, however, when they get a call for backup on an illegal blackmarket slavery ring, and encounter C2.
C2(my character if thats ok) is an artificially created life form that was intended to be used for war, but said war never happened. So they have been passed around from seller to seller untill the market raid happens.
C2 has the same mark as C1, leaving C2 with a choice. Abandon the creature, or keep them for thenselves.

Speices: technically a Chimera, but mostly looks like a skeleton
Appearence:. A short gray boned sketelton, with dark green ecto flesh covering him from the ribs down. He can alter the formed body at will, but usually leaves it looking thin but muscled. On his back is a complicated metal structure, wired and bolted into his spine making it impossible to remove. The structure has 3 ports running down the center, with 3 vents on eather side. His eyelights are pale green
Abilitys: he can form tentacles and insect wings out of the vents on his back, and absorb magic through the ports. Has a mild form of telepathy, but must be emotionally close to someone for it to work.
Weaknesses: he doesnt produce any magic on his own, and needs to be fed it from an outside source or he will die. His soul(the skeleton approximate of a humans heart) is extreamly fragile due to this.
Other: hes a sweetheart, but could absolutely commit genocide if forced too -

Theta was curled up in a corner of his cage, leaning against the bars in a half asleep state to conserve magic, his ecto appearing dull and thin due to how little magic he had in his system. He could hear fighting somewhere nearby, but couldnt tell where in his dazed state -
Amy was fighting at a raid in a marketplace. She dodged a flying bullet that whizzed by her head. She gasped once a robber threw her into a wall, taking her gun away from her.
