Thread Topic: Kris, come here.

``Well, we'll have to make that one minute count then,`` Jo said, chuckling. ``Hopefully we can make a call to someone.``

I'd like to continue if you'd like to :) -
"Hopefully, but we’d get cut off. I don’t know what happens when your minute passes when you’re in a call." Arlo frowned, suddenly very interested in his shoes. The new sandcastle was complete now, though it was still as fragile as a deck of cards; one gust of wind could blow it away.
-
``True,`` Jo said, sighing. She looked around, starting to feel even more hopeless on being able to get off this wretched island. She tapped her hand against her leg, walking around absentmindedly.
-
Arlo was quick to comfort her. "We can still make it work, though. We'll build a raft if we have to. This can’t get any worse, right? We’ll make our situation better." He, too, though, had slouched shoulders and chewed cuticles. His lip was bleeding from how much he’d bit it. Arlo quickly wiped his mouth, leaving a red stain on his shirt.
-
Jo nodded as she stopped, looking out toward the water. ``That'd probably our best bet, if the phone call doesn't work out,`` she muttered, seeming to try and work out some plan. ``Either that or we wait for someone to notice we're missing, but I highly doubt that. We could try making a flare signal, to get a passing boat's attention.``
-
"Yeah," Arlo agreed, though he was thinking, Who sails by a small island? We’d have to wait a couple weeks for the latter to work.
Stupid analytical brain, he cursed. "Phone calls could definitely work. I can make myself talk really fast, so I’d be able to explain the situation to the person on the other end in under a minute, I think, or at least I can guarantee that I can tell them where we are and get them to send out a rescue team to save us, or something like that." -
Jo nodded, putting her hands in her pockets. ``And if the phone call doesn't work, we can have a raft as a backup plan and try and make our own way off this d-mn island.``
-
Arlo definitely agreed now. He wasn’t used to this abundance of swearing. "Yeah. A raft would definitely work—help us find our way to civilization or something, at least. You’ve convinced me that… well, we can find our way off this island at some point." He left out the fact that the raft was a gamble. They might starve before they found civilization that way, and too many coconuts might sink the raft.
-
Jo nodded and started walking over to some nearby trees. ``So, how are we going to go about making a raft?`` She asked, looking over to Arlo.
-
"Driftwood, or wood from palm trees, but that would just kill off our food supply… so driftwood."
-
Jo nodded, proceeding to search for any driftwood to use to make a makeshift raft.
