Thread Topic: The Stuff of Legend

On a cool, windy night in an ordinary house, all was quiet. This quiet was soon broken by a dog barking at a closet. The boy who owned the dog tried to stop him when all of the sudden a large mass of darkness came out of the closet, knocked the dog aside and kidnapped the bot into the darkness of the closet. Not just any darkness either, the closet was in fact a portal to a world where any toy will become a real version of themselves with real weapons. 6 brave toys and the dog must now venture into this world, find the boy and bring him home, no matter the cost.
So this whole plot is based off a comic book with the same name I read a long time ago. Thought it would be interesting to roleplay with it, but you don't have to know a thing about the comic as we won't use any of it's characters save for one and the time period's different.
Rules:
No OP characters
None of our characters can be from licensed franchises like My Little Pony or Transformers
I'd recommend everyone make a character that is humanoid or an animal. Dinosaurs are okay but not ones any larger than Utahraptor or Dakotaraptor. So no T.rex
Unlike the comic book it's based on, this roleplay takes place in modern times so electric toys are allowed.
