Time skip?))
Aethra had a nice class. Her teachers were always kind and courteous to her, but she fumbled and dropped her books. Slowly, she picked them up one by one. -
Chase kicked a book that had slid in his direction, not knowing if it went over to her, not caring.

One of her books hit Aethra's foot, and she deduced that someone must have kicked it her way. Meanie, she thought, but kept picking her books up and putting them in her backpack.

Skylar walked over to her and started helping her.

Aethra smiled at Skylar. "Thanks," she said. "Umm," she said, trying to think of something to say, "You're really nice."

"I'll introduce you to some of my friends at lunch," she said, and handed the remaining spilled materials to Aethra.

"Sounds good!" Aethra exclaimed. "In fact, it sounds great." She accepted the collected materials and put them in her backpack.

In fact it was lunchtime right then. Skylar led her to the noisy cafeteria

Aethra giggled a bit, for no reason in particular. She was pumped to meet Skylar's friends. Hopefully they would be just as nice as she was.

Skylar led her to a table with a girl and a boy. "This is Tyler and Amber," she said. She sat down across from Amber.
Chase sat in the lunchroom a table away from Aethra, staring straight at her. -
Aethra felt more than three sets of eyes on her, but it might be rude in some aspect to tell Skylar that. After all, there were lots of kids in this school. Who said every lunch table was private? "Oh, um… you all seem very nice," Aethra said, even though neither Tyler or Amber had said a word.

"She's a good judge of character," Tyler said. "She hasn't even met us yet!"
"Welcome to the school," Amber said. "We wish you luck." -
"Thank you." Aethra shuddered, but she wasn’t quite sure why.

"Hey, is something wrong?" Tyler asked.

"N-no, it’s just cold." Aethra mustered a reassuring smile.
