Wren nodded. "Yeah, I get that. When I worked in garbage disposal, I didn't talk about it either. Doesn't sound very "cool" to throw trash out."
She shuddered a little. "You would not BELIEVE the heathenish stuff I've found. Eugh." -
Sgrios tilted his head in apparent confusion "heathenish?

"You heard me! One time I found a piece of bread so thick with mold, I thought it was a dead dog," Wren said with a shudder. "That thing was its own ecosystem."

Sgrios made a disgusted face and a little gagging noise

Wren laughed. "Yeah, that's usually the reaction I get."

"Why would you do that?

"Do what?" Wren asked, lifting Ray into her lap and stroking him.

"Work that sort of job" Sgrios said after a moment "if you had a choice to do anything else

Wren snorted. "I didn't exactly have much of a choice then. There was not much else I could do."

Sgrios went quiet at that, playing with his tail

Wren noticed the change in Sgrios's manner and guiltily toyed with a piece of her hair. "Sorry."

"Why? Why are you sorry?" Sgrios asked her

"I was probably a bit too..," Wren struggled for the right word. "Insensitive. That's not quite it, but you get the gest, right?"
