“My name is Axel.” He said. It seemed as if the girl didn’t notice he was wanted by the police.

"I feel like I've seen you before..." she said, then shook her head. That happened a lot and she usually ended up wrong. "So...what was going on back there?"

Axel tried thinking of an excuse. “I was...er..heading home and a gang attacked me!” He said, proud of the story he made up.

"Too many bodies for that," Irelynd said. "It looked as if there were two distinctive sides to the fight. Also if you were just heading home you wouldn't be taking the alleys."

Axel started sweating nervously. “It was the shortcut. You see, I was heading home and I was going to be late for dinner, so I took a shortcut.” He said.

Irelynd shook her head. She didn't know what to make of this. What she saw suggested one thing, but he was saying something different. She should've called the police right away, there were so many dead bodies strewn about. "I should just call the police..." she said, reaching for her phone.

Axel’s eyes widened. He quickly took his gun and pointed it at Irelynd’s head. “I don’t seem to like that idea.” He said in a creepy, low voice.

Irelynd's eyes were as wide as saucers. Her hand shot back to her side. She was terrified. Her heart was pounding in her chest, her chest rising and falling with each breath she took. She didn't dare scream.

Axel smirked. “You look pretty cute when your scared.” He whispered in her ear. He put the gun on her head.

Irelynd just stood there completely frozen, waiting for him to act. Waiting for him to either bring the gun away or for the feeling of a bullet in her head, -

“Now, nobody gets hurt if I can hide out here for a few days. If you call the police, they most likely won’t get here in time to save you from death.” He said, slowly moving the gun away. -
Rasia deflated in relief when he pulled the gun away. She scurried across the bare mattress trying to get as far away from him as possible.

He sighed and walked over to her. “Listen, I promise I won’t hurt you. You did me a favor by not leaving me out to die like many people would’ve. Whats your name?” He asked, sitting beside Rasia now.
