"Now now, Nathan, we wouldn't want to bother this young gentleman, now would we?" Chandler said, extending his hand gracefully. Nathan nimbly leapt off of Flame's lap and scampered up Chandler's arm, perching on his shoulder. "I apologize on account of my charge."

Flame waved his hand. "It's fine! He wasn't bothering me!" He smiled at Nathan. "See you later!"

Nathan wiggled all of his fingers in a strange little wave at Flame. "Bye!" he said cheerfully. "See you later!"
Chandler carried Nathan into a compartment and let the child roam around. And roam around he did, wedging his fingers down every crack and nick and cranny he could find, clawing around for whatever lay within. He returned to Chandler with a handful of "prizes".
