Species Options:
Fire Foxes- Red, orange, yellow, or very rarely, blue or white, shimmering fur. Can ignite a flame by breathing, similar to a dragon. Golden claws. Green or amber eyes. Immune to fire.
Sand Cobras- Scales any shade of brown, yellow, orange, or rarely, gold. Can see in any sandstorm. Can summon sandstorms anywhere except Antarctica. Psychic powers, including telekinesis, mind reading, telepathy, and foretelling the future, but powers range from each cobra, and their psychic energy has a very low limit, so they hardly ever use it.
Mountain Cats- Fur any shade of gray or white, more rarely dark brown, black, or ice blue. Dark blue eyes. Wings the color of their fur, dappled with cream or silver splotches. Can fly. Can survive in high altitudes, as well as in space, though not for long. Claws are made of ice that never melts or snaps, though they can shoot them at enemies, and they regrow quickly.
Or of course normal animals, the above are species that only exist in legends... or so that is what everyone thinks.
Humans = extinct
Mythical creatures = real
Dinosaurs = real
No trace of humans can be found
One day, trillions of years ago, they disappeared - and so did everything else that they made
No one knew what happened
The oceans are now land
Water is scarce - only in occasional ponds, lakes, and streams

1) There's multiple of each legendary species, just very few of them, and they all have certain homes. Mountain Cats live on Mount Everest, Sand Cobras live in the Sahara desert, Fire Foxes live in Mauna Loa (world's largest volcano)
