She sighed and closed the notebook, putting it away before going to rummage around for dinner

Kai rummaged around in the bag again and pulled out the antibiotic, applying it on and then covering it up with the bandages. He threw the shirt and hoodie at his hamper and walked out.

Nixie frowned as she searched for something too cook

Kai walked over to the bedroom and grabbed a clean shirt, then went back to the kitchen.

Nixie noticed him and waved as she pulled some stuff out of the cupboard

Kai made a little smile, watching what Nixie was doing.

Nixie then walked over to the fridge and pulled out some chicken, setting it on the counter before going to look for a knife and a cutting board

Kai made a little curious face. “What are you making?” He asked.

"Chicken Alfredo!" Nixie chirped cheerfully

“Hm, never heard of that before.” Kai said, brushing his hair out of his face.

"Wait really?" Nixie blinked at him in confusion, holding a knife now. "Thats weird" she grabbed a cutting board and started cutting up the chicken into small cubes

Kai glanced away, getting an awful flashback from 6 years ago. His mom found dead in the house, and his dad gone. Kai felt anger blaze up inside him just thinking about it. “Yeah...weird.”

Nixie didnt notice, chucking the cubes into a bowl with some seasoning to coat them before putting them on a cookie sheet and into the oven to cook, grabbing a pot to cook the noodles

Kai shook the thoughts away and looked towards Nixie again.

Nixie stared at the pot fir several long seconds before remembering that she needed to fill it with water
