Daniel dropped his bow onto the concrete floor, before pouring a bottle of water over his head for the refreshing coolness. Fighting others wouldn't be easy if the population continued to grow strong. "You're losin' yourself, boy!" He heard the General's voice behind him. Turning to face the General, he heaved a long sigh. -
Brielle punched wood until her knuckles bled. Her instructor roughly pulled her to him, glanced at her knuckles and then said she was free to go.
She wrapped bandages around her hands, watching the blood seep into the white cotton. -
"They just won't stop coming!" He fell back with a frustrated huff of his breath. "I think I need to be upgraded to flaming arrows, General."
"Ya know who ye reminds me of, son?" The General's voice unexpectedly softened, before he sat down coolly next to Daniel. -
"When will you send me back into a REAL battle?" Brielle said. "I can take care of myself, you know."
"You injured yourself in your last battle, so I thought pulling you from the war and making you train was a suitable option," her instructor replied. "You're not ready."
Brielle punched the wall next to her, not flinching when blood soaked her bandages. "I AM ready. Send me back." -
"Who?" He replied.
"Thar be an old legend of a young warrior like ye," The General began. "Noble, wise, and a hero he was to his people. Though hesitant at first, he learned to build confidence in woe." -
"No, you're not. Whatever you may say, you're just a sixteen year old girl, not an experienced fighter," he replied. "You need time to recover."
"It's all healed up! I'm fine," Brielle said. "Never mind." -
"Oh," He sighed. After a long pause, he stood up. "When am I in battle, again?"
"Takin' risks again, I see, eh?" The General teased. -
Brielle walked away, a grim look of determination on her face. If they didn't send her out in battle, she would go anyway.
-
"You'll be in battle soon, there, boy." The General finished, before getting up to leave.

Brielle put on her armor, wincing as her breastplate brushed against her ribs. She had wounded herself in her last battle, and would have quite the scar.
