Eventuality the school day was over. Nicko got into his car and drove home. When he got there, he'd pulled out his textbooks to try and get something done, but he simply couldn't concentrate. He looked at the clock. His parents should be home in a couple hours.

Before Xena knew it, she was back on her home planet. She took a deep breath and smiled. It felt goos to come back, but she wouldn't be here for long. She made her way to a small house at the end of the block. This is where she had spent her entire life. It held so many memories. As Xena walked up the paved driveway she called out to her sister. "Astrid!!" she shouted. Her younger sister came down with a smile on her face and embraced Xena with a hug. "What brings you home so early?" Astrid exclaimed, with a chuckle.
Xena looked at her for a moment, and tried to formulate her words. "I'm working on a new project. A bigger one...that I need your help with." She looked at Astrid and the air between them grew quiet. Astrid looked at her sister for a moment before nodding. "Absolutely! Let's go!" Astrid pumped her fist up in the air and walked with her sister out of the house. Xena gave her a quick breifing over what her rold was in this project, and how she would be helping. All the two sisters had to do know was head to the lab and get some equipment ready. Dusk would soon begin on Earth and they didn't want to miss anything important. -
Nickolas sighed and closed his textbook. He decided to go for a walk. Maybe that would help him. No wait, he should probably schedule that doctor appointment. But he should probably wait until his parents got home so that they'd be able to find a convenient date. He went on the walk.

(*good, *role; I can't spell today 😅)
Xena stood in the middle of the lab with her sister and smiled. Astrid was in awe of the work they had done so far. "How do you have time for all of this?" Astrid asked. Xena just shrugged her shoulders. "I'm honestly not sure anymore. It just happens." Xena walked over to a medical table in the center of the room and picked up a syringe that had a rubber tip on it. It was filled with a clear substance. "This should be all we need." Xena said, putting the syringe in the side pocket of her bag that was on the table. -
Nicko just aimlessly wandered around his neighborhood until he realized that he should probably get back and make supper otherwise his mom would tell at him for forgetting, and they would be eating their meal later than usual.
-
Xena and Astrid walked out of the lab and down the hall. "So when do I start?" Astrid asked, her voice high with excitement. "You'll get a first hand look about what we do, and how we do it tonight. Then tomorrow, you start the field work." Xena felt her heart race in her chest, and her thoughts speed through her mind. This could go wrong in so many ways, but she wasn't trying to think about that right now. What Xena didn't tell Astrid was, humans were a dangerous and drastic breed.

Nicko put the chicken in the roaster pan and stuck it in the oven. Then he put the potatoes in the oven around the pan. The vegetables could wait until right when the chicken was done. He had an hour to kill now. He popped in a movie. He knew he wasn't going to finish it, but it was something to do.
-
Xena and Astrid made their way to the elevator at the end of the hall. They were going to grab a quick bite from the to go vendors before they had to go. "Do they have cooked kalamari?" Astrid asked, following Xena step by step. "I think so!" Xena exclaimed, a bit to loud. They each went to a vending machine, got their meals and sat down at a table together. It seemed like forever ago that Xena had sat down and actually talked with Astrid, much less eat dinner with her.
-
After awhile his parents came home. Nicko put a bag of frozen vegetables in a corningware dish along with a bit of butter, salt, and pepper, and put it in the microwave. He got the chicken and potatoes out of the oven. It was a simple and easy way to make a chicken dinner. Nicko set the table and then waited for the vegetables to finish.

Astrid looked at her older sister and smiled. She could tell Xena was worried, but it was nice to have her demeanor a bit softened. Most of the times when Xena did come home (which was rarely), she always holed herself up in ger room and seemed distant. Now that Astrid was now a part of her sisters work, she was seeing a completely different side of her. A side that she missed. She looked down at her food and took a couple of bites. The journey ahead was making her feel sqeamish. She had never done this before, and all she could think about were the multiple possiblities that could happen.
-
The microwave beeped and Nicko used a hot pad (oven mitt, whatever you want to call it) to get the side out. He set it on the table. When his parents asked him how his day was, he just said, "The same as it has been lately. Too tired to get anything done, don't feel like I'm getting any sleep when I get a chance, and I've been sore all over."

(I wanted to let you know my service cuts out today, and I'll be gone until around the 23rd. I'll respond when I get back though. ❤)
Xena and Astrid stood up from the table they were sitting at and went to go throw their trash away. "Alright, so when we get here, we're going to walk around the block. I'll show you different houses we need to keep an eye on, and where we can hide if something did go wrong." Astrid nodded as they walked to these circular devices that were next to the cafeteria doors. They both stepped in, and Xena punched in a 6 digit numerical code. Before they knew it, they were standing on an abanded sidewalk near their target home. -
(Alright, thanks for letting me know)
They finished supper, then Nicko did the dishes. He looked at the clock. He could do what he did last night. Get all his late work done, then just do the work due tomorrow the next day. It was about all he was able to do to not fall terribly behind, but he knew his teachers were starting to get frustrated with him. He got his books out of his bag and started working. -

Xena walked with Astrid around the block. As they walked, Xena pointed at different routes they could take just in case they were caught. One of the main ones was near the back of their target house. It was covered in shadows, and would be perfect to hide in; in vase the inevitable happened.
