"I thought you would like it." she said, nodding her head in approval. "Is there anytthing else you would like to know about this place?" She waves her hand around the study. The books are perched nicely on the shelves, but you can see the slight residue of dust on them. They hadn't been touched in a while.
-
“Are those spell books?” Grimly asked, greatly interested in the books as he hobbled over to drag his finger along the many spine of books. He took a book out of its spot, leaving a book shaped gap in the many rows of books. Flipping through the pages he lifted an eyebrow, these were just normal books, nothing too special.
-
"I do have one book that is...special. It's in a safe place. Would you like to see it?" She looked at him and took the book out of his hands, placing it back onto the shelf. She was a bit hesitant to show him this book, just because it took a long time to acquire.
-
“Yes please.” He said, nodding. Books were an interesting thing where he came from, each had its own purpose. Learning magic, stories from others, and books written about one’s life. He only wished he had more, each one was filled with a wondrous adventure, but they began to bore him as he started to read them for the twentieth time.

She walked out of the study, motioning the man to follow her. She made her way back into the living room, and stood next to a brown bookshelf. There was a decorative vase that seemed to be stuck to the shelf. She turned it, and a secret door popped open right beside her. At first glance, one would think it was a normal wall.
She reached inside, and felt around the compartment. At first, should couldn't find it, and her heart sank in her chest. As she reached into the compartment further, she grinned as she felt the cloth that wrapped around the leather-bound book. She pulled it out, handling it very carefully. As she turned around, and showed him the book, the cloth fell off and the front of the book started to glow an iredescent blue. -
Grimly stared at the book and pointed at it, “That’s magic, I assume?”
The book looked like something that may have well come from his world, a magic book. -
"I-" she started to speak but was stunned. It had never done this before. Maybe it was because of the elderly gentleman in the room, or maybe there was a scientific explanation for this sort of thing. "Does this look familiar to you at all?" She stepped forward, handing him the book. Maybe, if it was from a different place, or different time, he could tell her more about it.
-
Grimly took the book and flipped it over and over in his hands. Odd, it glowed more and more when near him. The small elder ran his fingers along the slides of the book, it was surely familiar.
He remembered a book that had appeared on his shelves not too long before he had entered this whole new world, it didn’t glow but it was surely something interesting.
“I’ve got one of these at home.” He said gruffly, as he turned a page to read the first chapter. There it was, the words in the book described him perfectly (although, he didn’t think that he was that old looking). -
Scarlette looked at him, and nodded. This book had appeared in her desk not long after she had finished her second novel, "A Time to Remember". She even remembered what happened that day.
The sunlight filtered through Scarlette's apartment, shining upon every nook and cranny it could reach. The plants scattered throughout the apartment strained to soak the bright light in. "Today is going to be a good day." Scarlette said, stretching as she entered the main room. She was still in her pajamas, as she walked to the kitchen and made her breakfast. As she was going through her daily routine, there was a mysterious and magical force at work.
"Now that you mention it, the book was given to me. But it was by someone I didn't know. They stopped by, dressed in a light creame colored suit and dark colored shades." she said, thinking back. This doesn't make any sense....
"The book that you have, what is it? I've never gotten the gumption to open this one. I've always been slightly scared to." she chuckled. -
“My book doesn’t glow. But there is something magical about it, I’ve never opened it, I don’t want it to blow up my house.” Grimly replied handing her the book, “A small elf wandered by, I remember, to drop it off. He didn’t say anything and I took it. It seemed odd to receive a book from a stranger.”
-
Scarlette thought about the coincedences in their stories and her mind started to twirl. As she started to peice things together, her apartment started to shake, and things seemed to be floating through the air. She looked at Grimly. "Is there anything you can do to help?"
-
Grimly quickly hobbled over to his wand/magical staff thing. He picked it up and held it in both hands, in the next few seconds- everything settled back down. Of course, a few decorative vases shattered as they were dropped.
