But Caleb had already gone.
Becky dropped a water balloon on Zander's head and he spluttered with surprise. "What was that for?" he demanded.
"You needed a bath," Becky teased. He pulled her into a headlock and gave her a noogie as she laughed helplessly. -
Leven looked around, confused. She left the room and ran outside. She decided to head back to her room.
-
Caleb leaned against a tree as he soaked up the last rays of sunlight. He brushed his hand over the water rippling merrily next to him. He had almost missed it. Maybe, just maybe, if he never missed this, he wouldn't miss them so much.
-
Leven sat outside her room, her head against the door. She smiled to herself when the sun disappeared. Holland always loved looking at the sunset. “Why did he have to die?” Leven asked herself quietly, tears streaming down her cheeks.
-
Caleb looked at his own reflection and almost scared himself. How could he look that normal when he was such a wreck on the inside? He looked away and that was when he saw them. The fireflies.
-
Leven stood up from her spot and entered her room. She collapsed on her bed and sighed deeply. She leaned over and took a picture from her nightstand. She smiled when she looked at the smiling faces of her family. Gosh, how much she missed them.
-
Helios sat at the rubble again. one name ran rampant through his mind, Peter. His first friend, his last follower, the only person he could rely on in that hellhole, Peter. But today he remembered another name that made him sad... Leven. His first crush, and his first heartbreak. He would never say anything though, and he knew he would never be with her. after all, he was dating Caleb and Caleb was his best friend.
-
Leven sat up and reached for a small book underneath her mattress. She opened it and out fell a letter. One she had written so many years ago to a distant friend. “Now’s the time to send it.” She said to herself.
-
Helios remembered many things about this rubble. He remembered coming there anemic and depressed and he remembered the price his family sold him for, it was all terrible until he met Peter.
-
Plot twist: Caleb and Helios get together XD))
The fireflies weaved around him, glowing with a soft light. They'd remembered, and so had he. He thought about his family and different expressions slipped over his face. Anger when he thought about his parents, who had abandoned him. Happiness and then sorrow at the thought of his foster mother and his little sister, both of whom had died in front of him when he was twelve. -
XD))
Leven got up and ran towards the mail room. Her letter placed tightly in her hand as she ran. She flung the door open and placed the letter into a box where it would soon be mailed off to its destination/ -
Caleb smacked his forehead, his calm façade crumbling. "Why?" he said, his voice broken with pain. Why did they all have to die? Why was he so weak? Why had Leven kissed him? Why had he been put in a place of leadership, when he was barely holding in as it was?

(pfft)
Helios looked at a sketch in the rubble, it was an amazing drawing of him and a young black haired boy sitting in the forest. Helios remembered the Time it was drawn and how Peter gave it to him the night before the big fight -
Leven turned and walked out. How long before the letter reached her friend? Leven didn’t know, but she hoped soon.
-
Caleb stayed there until the fireflies flitted away. When they had left him, he felt an overwhelming sense of loneliness and trudged away.
