Easter jumped when she felt Screech's hand on her, backing away. "Why'd you do that?" she demanded.
-
"dad said touching it is danger." Screech muttered. He picked up the tarp and tried carefully pulling it back over the robot. Wester watched stunned.
-
Easter shuddered. "Danger? What'll happen?"
-
"gear catch hand." Screech said, Akwardly trying to show with his hands
-
Easter was frightened and confused. "Will it hurt us?" she whimpered, before tugging on Wester's sleeve. "Westy, I'm scared. Don't touch it."
-
"sorry." Screech said. "I don't think it's malicious." Wester said, fiddling with his hands. Griffin flew over after hearing the commotion.
-
Nix decided to follow Griffin and his eyes practically glittered. "Woah!"
Easter hid behind Wester, spooked. -
"what are you kid's doing?" Nori said walking over.
-
Prism pulled her hair back, laughing a little. "I think they're admiring that robot of yours."
-
"well he is a technical marvel. Kids, not even lord obsidian has been able to make a robot this detailed yet. With luck I'll be the first." Nori said with stars in his eyes. Wester could almost feel the Wonder radiating off of nori.
-
Prism hugged Nori. "Of course you'll be the first! You're a genius."
Niz peeked under the cover at the robot. "Cool," he said in a hushed whisper. -
"but didn't lady Yusa ban the pursuit of artificial life after the Aro tragedy?" Wester asked with a twinge of sadness in his voice. There was something about the robot that made him feel like it shouldn't be stopped, like it was sacred. "We don't have to worry about that." Was all nori said with an air of mystery surrounding him.
-
Easter tugged at Wester's sleeve, peering up at him curiously. "Westy, what's the Aro tragedy?"
Prism nodded. She wasn't sure what Nori meant, but she trusted his judgement. -
"the Aro tragedy was the day a boy made out of oak leaves and ice killed the only mortal son of Alexei" wester said quoting a passage from the oak pages of a book his friend mikan once read to him.
-
"Wow. Why'd he kill him?" Niz interrupted, interested in the story.
"That's sad," Easter said mournfully.
