“Sorry ma’am, but our orders are to search the house with or without your permission.” Arabella crossed her arms. “This is outrageous.” She said before running off.

Ren nodded. "Understood sir." He walked out of the room and once he was out of earshot, he let out a relieved sigh.

Arabella sat on a bench in a nearby park, her head in her hands. What would she do if they found anything they thought was suspicious? She didn’t know.

Ren didn't know what to do next. What was the most logical thing he could do at the moment? His head was fogged with thoughts and fears, so he decided to take a walk to clear it.
As he rounded the perimeter of the park he'd selected, he saw Arabella sitting on a bench in clear distress. He went over to her. "What is it?" he asked, trying to keep concern from creeping into his voice. -

“They’re at my house.” She grumbled. “They think I’m hiding them.” Arabella said a bit more loudly, leaning her head back to look at the sky.

"They won't find anything...right?" Ren said, taking a seat next to her.

“I don’t know.” Arabella admitted. “I don’t think there’s anything suspicious in there, but honestly, I’m scared they’re going to find something.”

"I know that feeling," Ren sighed. I'm not going to tell you that everything is going to be okay, but I'll try to make it that way."

Arabella shook her head. “I just hope Ios and the others are safe right now.” She mumbled, getting up from her seat. “And if you mind, i need to clear my head.” And with that she left Ren and started to run down the street, thoughts swirling through his head.

Ren sat alone, his feelings for Arabella as murky as his thoughts of what to do next. Wait, feelings for Arabella? No, that couldn't be right. He couldn't love her. He couldn't love anyone.

Arabella grumbled to herself as she walked along. Why was he so suddenly interested in her life? She didn’t need him, did she? Arabella banged the palm of her hand against her forehead. “I’m. No. Stupid. Little. Girl.” She kept saying over and over.

Ren sighed. From now on, he'd try to avoid her. If he did so, maybe he'd forget about her and she would forget about him. Or he would have to do something more...permanent.

She kept grumbling as she walked along. She didn’t want to be some sap who fell for the first boy she crossed paths with. No. That wasn’t her. “I’d rather bite my own hand off then fall in love.” She remembered telling her brother when she was only seven. Ben just laughed and shrugged. “If ya say so.” He told her.
