"Complicated, yes. Messy, usually less so," Oliver replied.

"True," Imogen said, pulling into the police station.

Oliver got out of the car. -
(So far the scenario fits Sebastian. But everything makes them keep on having to go back to Mrs. Marlen for more info, which makes it seem like she's the one in control of all this. Or you could be going for a completely different route, and have the one that is least likely to do it do it.)
Imogen got out of the car and walked into the station. -
That's pretty good, given that one of my theories could easily fit yours. Maybe I'll take that route, maybe I won't.))
Oliver entered the interrogation room, but she wasn't there. -

"Where is she?" Imogen asked. -
"Transferred," a police officer said. "For attempted escape."

"Where?" Imogen asked. The wheels in her head were turning.

"To somewhere more secure," he replied. "You won't be able to see her today."

Imogen gave a fierce sigh. " do you know when we'll be able to see her? "

The officer shook his head. "Sorry, miss. Maybe tomorrow."
