The demon could tell that out of all of the sections available, this was probably going to be his favorite. All of the accessories and outfit choices made him excessively excited. When Cain pointed out a specific shirt, he looked over at it, smiling.
"Oh, it looks so fun," he said, pulling it off of the rack and holding it up. "Is this what human teenagers are into these days?" He pawned through some of the other shirts, picking them out and holding them up in the air. This style was totally unlike what he had worn when he was around centuries ago, but it was still rather nice. -
"Yeah, kinda.. I mean, everyone has their own style and likes. There are plenty of kids my age who would love this stuff," Cain replies to Virgil with a smile. It seems they hit the jackpot with this section, Cain loved seeing Virgil excited over something as simple as clothes.
"There are some dressing rooms too, you can try on things and choose which ones you want to keep," Cain says to Virgil. Cain didn't want to just stand around awkwardly so he curiously looked through some of the clothing options from this section. It was wild, everything was dark and radiated with 'I'm a cool teen who'll headbang at 1am and sneak away to a concert at 2' energy. -
"Good, good.. I have to blend in, you know. We don't need anyone getting suspicious of me." Virgil carefully laid out some of the shirts on his arm, twitching his nose as he gazed at the selection. "I should probably look for other styles, too.. Just to be safe.."
When Cain mentioned the dressing rooms, Virgil glanced over, raising an eyebrow. "Oh? That could be useful. Where might I find your.. Dressing room?" He adjusted his shirt collection, patting the top of the small pile. He was rather proud of his findings, but he wanted to make sure it all looked natural on him. -
(Dark. Dark listen. We're dredging dangerously close to fashion montage scene and I'm LIVING for it <3)
"Don't worry so much about blending in, just choose what you like and wear it confidently," Cain advised wisely, with a small smile forming on his lips. Of course, he was a bit of a hypocrite. Most of the things he had interests in Cain could never fully explore due to fear of not being the picture perfect child he was supposed to be.
Cain picked up the shirt pile Virgil had accumulated. "Follow me, the dressing rooms are right around here," Cain said as he led Virgil to the dressing rooms. "You can go in there and try on everything you want to buy in order to make sure it fits." Cain gave back Virgil's collection of garments. -
(lmfao.. the gays grow up so fast :")
Virgil arched an eyebrow at Cain's advice, although he did agree with it. He'd much rather enjoy his appearance for himself than try to blend in with the humans. He returned the smile, finally nodding in a sign of agreement.
"Alright," he replied, hugging the collection close to his chest to avoid dropping anything. "I'll be out soon enough." He dipped into one of the rooms, carefully closing the door behind himself with his fit. He waited until he heard the door click before setting the pile of clothing down on the bench inside.
There was a full body mirror in the back of the room. Virgil gazed at himself, slowly touching his face and running his hands down his own body. He hadn't seen his human form for so long; he had all but forgotten how it looked. -
:)
Cain sat on one of the benches to wait for Virgil to try on the things he'd chosen. He sighed. He realized he finally had a moment to himself, after such a long day. Cain hadn't slept at all due to summoning Virgil and then having to subsequently stay up to introduce him to his mom and brother. The lack of rest was starting to really hit him.
With this moment to himself Cain began to fiddle around with other things Bentley's shop had to offer; Clothes he'd never even had the guts to be in close proximity to. Cain found a black beanie and put it on, then he found a spiked belt and looped it around his waist.
This was kinda fun! Cain kept going on like that, putting on random accessories and looking at the mirror near the dressing room. He chuckled softly at first, then it turned into full on laughter as the things he put on became more and more ridiculous. A top hat. Rainbow glasses. A cheetah print vest. -
Virgil wasn't too sure how he felt about his current appearance. For a demon that was centuries old, he wasn't too sure that presenting himself as a young adult had been the right move. But it was his go-to form; an appearance that reminded him of the good old days, when he swindled young ladies and gentleman back when he was still human. He smiled at himself, trying not to start daydreaming of his past.
Forcing himself to focus, Virgil tried on each and every shirt, pair of pants, and accessory that he had grabbed from the 'Punk n goth' section. He struck a pose in the mirror, admiring himself and the aesthetic of the clothing. "Fascinating," he said to himself while looking at a complete outfit.
When he had formed what was the 'perfect' outfit in his mind, he stepped out of the room, looking around for Cain in hopes of showing off. He saw that the other boy was just outside of the dressing rooms, trying on things himself. The demon hid behind the door, watching him. Cain seemed to glow with an energy that he hadn't had all day. Virgil liked it very much; the smile, the laughter. He wished Cain would be like that all the time.. -
Cain tries to quiet down his laughter. It was a little past midday, Bentley would surely have other customers soon. He looked childish, trying on things like this. But even so, Cain had never felt so free.. like he was in control. Perhaps this underlying desire to make bold and unshackled decisions was the reason he summoned Virgil in the first place.
Speaking of Virgil, he's been in the dressing room for a while now. Cain put back all of the things he'd been trying on. He would be super embarrassed if Virgil saw him like that. Cain held onto the rainbow frame glasses though. He kind of liked them. Perhaps he could figure out how to make them into prescription glasses, then he wouldn't be so hesitant to wear them.
"Virgil you alright in there?" Cain asks curiously. Remnants of his laughter from a minute ago remained on his face, and as a result Cain was grinning wildly. -
Virgil watched Cain start to slowly take off all of the little accessories. His heart sank a little at the sight; he was hoping that the other boy would continue to have fun for just a while longer.
At the sound of Cain calling out to him, Virgil quickly swung the door fully open and stepped out, still wearing one of the new outfits. He leaned against the door frame and struck a pose, using one hand to keep the door from smacking him right in the face. "Yes, I am alright," he said. He paused, adding, "I'm more than alright. I look rather fabulous, don't you think?" -
"Yes, you do!" Cain agrees without hesitation. Cain is a little surprised at his own boldness, it was like he was on a high of unabashed tomfoolery. Cain took a step closer so he could hold the door open for Virgil.
"Do I look fabulous too?" Cain asks as he puts on the rainbow glasses and makes a silly face. Ridiculous. Utterly ridiculous. -
Virgil grinned eagerly once Cain agreed with him. He bowed his head a bit, twirling his free hand dramatically. He adored the attention; especially from Cain.
When Cain put on the glasses, the demon smiled, reaching over and ruffling the boy's hair. "Most certainly. I think we're the hottest around." -
"I'm pretty sure you're the hottest, since you literally came from Hell," Cain says with a grin, unable to resist making the joke when the timing was perfectly ripe. Would the joke be offensive though? Cain wasn't exactly well-educated in demon etiquette, so he didn't know.
"Hold on, let's take a photo," Cain suggested, pulling out his phone and going to camera. He set it to selfie mode, something he rarely did. -
Virgil stared at Cain, his eyes a bit wide in surprise. But after a brief moment, he grinned, and he burst out laughing. It was a genuine laugh; the joke had really gotten to him.
"H-Heh, thanks," he choked out, trying to calm down for the picture. He wasn't sure how Cain was going to take a photo with his little box of light, but he wasn't going to object to doing something that the human wanted to do. -
Cain loved the way Virgil laughed. It was deep, hearty, genuine. He'd never really hung out with people who'd laugh like that. With his family it was always too serious, and with his friends.. well, what friends? He'd only had one friend before, and that got ruined pretty quickly after they decided to date and she became a completely different person.
Cain snaps a few photos and looks at how they came out. "Ohhh this one's good! I caught it right when you laughed at my dumb joke," Cain giggles and hands the phone to Virgil to show him. -
(That's kinda gay, Cain)
Virgil was amazed to see how the phone took photos. He carefully took the phone in his hands, staring intently at the photo. It really captured their essence- Virgil laughing, Cain smiling. Something about it was just so... Wholesome.
A smile sprawled across the demon's face as he gazed fondly at the phone. He had never seen himself look so happy before- he wondered if he could even remember a time when he had last had so much fun. "It looks great," Virgil agreed, carefully handing it back to him. "I like it a lot."
He wanted to stand there longer, looking at the expression on Cain's face. But he figured he may as well change back into his regular clothes, so they could keep going through the store. "I'm going to go change back," Virgil said, slowly slinking back to the dressing room. "Don't go anywhere."
