Gaynor looked behind her because she felt like she was being watched, and sure enough, there was 02248 - no, 04028? She couldn't remember. "What?" she asked.

"Nothing," he said quickly. "It is just... intriguing."

"What is?" Gaynor asked, a little confused.

"The way this...bedroom has been created. I am unused to this fashion of living quarters," he replied, as though this was perfectly clear.

Gaynor shook her head. "This is usual for us," she said.

"There is much I must "get used to" in this case," he said, patting the bed. "It is very soft."

"It's supposed to be," Gaynor said. "I'll let you sleep."

"Thank you," he said, although he had no intention of sleeping yet. He paced back and forth before entering the bathroom, where he washed his face carefully. He looked at his reflection unflinchingly and scowled at it.

Gaynor grabbed a few blankets, and slept on a cushioned armchair. She didn't know how long the man was going to stay, but she had to have a plan for ever circumstance that could possibly happen.

02084 fell onto the bed and stared at the ceiling. His body felt very tired but his mind had never been so wide awake. He threw the window open and poked his head out, looking at the stars.

Maybe tonight? Gaynor asked herself as she was falling asleep. No, he'll be on his best guard when he arrives some place so that no one will attack him and succeed in killing him. She turned on her side. Ugh. I'll think of something later.

02084 looked at the stars, thinking deeply. Why had Gaynor been so friendly? He found it all very suspicious. Friendly always meant that someone either wanted something from you or they were trying to lure you into a false sense of security.
