"well, I noticed some boards made out of a different type of wood, and a particularly suspicious nail sticking up out of the floor." Yusa said.
-
"Can I see?" Moss asked, intrigued.
-
"yeah they're right here, and I also noticed they're sturdier than the rest of the boards thanks to Lily's accident." Yusa said pointing to some oak boards .
-
Moss rapped on it. It was hollow. She began to pry it off and found a rusted knife inside. She screamed and backed up. There was dried blood on it. Her blood.
-
Lily’s eyes widened and she backed up. “That’s got to be the creepiest thing I’ve ever seen.” She said, staring at the knife, wide eyed,
-
Moss clapped a hand over her mouth, her heart pounding. There it was. The killer weapon. She sank down against the wall, trembling.
-
Lily looked at the weapon. "Why's it hidden in here do you think?" She asked herself aloud. "Moss, who else lived with you here?" She asked standing up and started to walk around. She didn't want to make Moss more hurt but what mattered was finding out who killed her and Lily might've felt she was onto something.
-
"My sister," Moss said. "My parents. We had a gardener and a neighbor who visited often. We had a cat. Maisy."
-
"my money's on the cat!" Silas yelled.
-
Moss laughed, feeling much better. "God, Silas. Cats don't have thumbs."
-
"I was just joking Ms buzzkill." Silas said.
-
"Good 'ol Maisy," Moss sighed. "She was a nice cat."
Rix looked offended. -
"Not to hurt anyone's mood, but why would the weapon that committed still be here, wouldn't the killer have taken it with them. I may be wrong but could i be onto something here?" Lily asked staring down at the knife.
-
"Someone must have had to hide it quickly," Moss said. "Someone...close to me."
She looked down on the boards she was standing on. Centuries ago, she had fell there, still and silent. She shook the thought off. -
