(That's amazing! I could never come up with that.)
Iris is sitting in the middle of her spell class. She was fairly good at elemental spells. Other spells? Not so much. She sits in her own little island, as she does not really have any friends. Iris has always been shy, and nobody ever talked to her, so why even bother with the other wizards? She had many animal friends, she didn't need those wizards. Suddenly, Iris hears the bell ring. It is time for history.
Iris adjusts her glasses and sits near the front of the class. Iris loved history, as the fairy race interested her. However, one thing did bother her; the teacher never told the reason why the war between the fairies and the wizards even started. Just about the war itself and the aftermath of it. Iris has always been afraid to ask, but now that she is almost an adult, she feels she has the right to know.
Iris walks up to her teacher, Mrs. Welsh. Mrs. Welsh was strict, but kind to the students that listened. "What was the cause of the war?" Iris asked politely. Mrs. Welsh made an uncomfortable face, and looked at Iris. "I'm sorry, Iris, but I am not allowed to answer that question." Iris is shocked. How could they not be allowed to tell the students about the cause of the war? The bell rings, and it is time for lunch.
Iris starts to walk outside. She didn't ever want to make the mistake of sitting in the lunchroom again. Iris knew that Frances, the most popular girl in the academy, would find her. Last time, Frances had used her water spell to bring water to the floor while she was walking. And of course, Iris had slipped and she fell on her bum. Everyone laughed. But Frances would never get in trouble, she is the headmaster's niece after all.
Iris decides that she wants to go to the edge of the academy's property. Iris has always wanted to explore what was passed it. But she is too afraid. One thing Iris did when she needed advice was to ask an animal. Animals are filled with wisdom, and provide great advice. She notices a bird, and asks, "Should I explore past the school? Not for long, just a little bit." The bird looks at Iris, and perches itself onto her finger. "There's nothing wrong with a little exploration." The bird replies. Iris walks off of the school property. -
ReeseButtercup Newbie(Aww, thanks!)
Nalia hummed as she flew into the Wizard Territory. Suddenly, her breath was taken away. She was amazed that two territories could be so different. The Fairy Territory was quiet, neat and beautfull; farmlands, meadows and valleys. The Wizard Territory looked more like a bustling city, and Nalia couldn't see a tree anywhere. There were lots of shops, houses and various buildings. There were wizards everywhere, all dressed in bizarre clothing. Quick as a flash, Nalia turned invisible so no one would see her. Goodness knows what a wizard would do to her if he or she spotted her. Nalia shivered at the thought and continued following her wisp, a shimmering appirition in the afternoon air, down a busy street. As Nalia progressed, there were less and less wizards around, and she was beginning to see some shrubs and knobbly trees.
Nalia followed a long, winding path until it came to a dead end. She scanned her surroundings to see if there were any wizards around. It appeared to be safe, so Nalia turned visible. That was when she saw a girl coming toward her. -
Iris is looking around the beautiful trail that was filled with all types of animals. Iris has never really seen this before, as she lived in the school's dorms. Iris looks above her head to see the beautiful sky. When she looks back down, she is in shock. Is that a fairy?
Iris blinked a couple of times to see if this was real. "Hello? Can you hear me?" Iris called out. She did not know what to do. She knew she would get in huge trouble if she told anyone she went off the property. Iris was never the violent type. Iris thought back to history class. Maybe this fairy can answer all of her questions. -
ReeseButtercup NewbieNalia looked down at the girl, and was horrified when she shouted.
"Shhh, mustn't alert anyone." she said softly, smiling a little forcefully. She was not afraid. Of course not. Could she get away with flying away now? -
"Oh...yeah." Iris said shyly. "May I ask what you are doing here? I've never seen a fairy in real life before." Iris looked at the fairy in awe. She has only heard descriptions of fairies. She knew they were supposed to be small, but never knew that they meant that small.
-
ReeseButtercup NewbieNalia giggled. I'm here because I want to be, of course!" she said matter-of-factly. "And why are you out of school property?" she inquired, a little teasingly.
-
Iris looked at her, confused. "You...want to be here? Why?" She asked. Iris looks at a tree in the distance. "I'm here because I want to explore outside of that prison." Iris pouted.
-
ReeseButtercup Newbie"For fun! Life is nothing without a little fun." Nalia said, grinning. "I feel the same way. My school gets terribly boring."
-
"Fun? You're in the wrong place." Iris replied. "And boring isn't the word for my school. The school part is the most bearable part. It's complicated."
-
ReeseButtercup NewbieNalia laughed. "Anything can be fun, it's just a matter of perspective. Well, anything except my school, that is." she said.
-
Iris looked at the fairy. "What's your school like?" She asked. Iris was very curious, as the only thing they've ever learned about fairies was their appearance and how to kill them. She didn't even know fairies went to school.
-
ReeseButtercup Newbie"Xch like your's, I'm sure." she said. "It's like a castle, with beautifull gardens. We learn magic, mostly. What about your's?" she asked, tilting her head q one side.
-
"Woah. A castle? Gardens? That's so...cool!" Iris said. "My school is a very tall building, and I haven't been off the property since I graduated kindergarten. Once you do that, your parents send you away until you're able to be an adult. We get taught everything." Iris complained.
-
ReeseButtercup Newbie"That sounds terrible. Would you like to go and see mine?" she asked, her eyes glinting with excitement.
-
"Yes! I would love to!" Iris exclaimed. She pouted. "But, I must go back to school. My break is over. Can you come back tonight, maybe at like 9 PM?" Iris asked. "It was nice meeting you, ummm....oh my! I didn't even ask your name! What is it?"
