I think it was because limited super speed is more of an enhancement where mind reading is an actual power.

Power: Power amplification, mostly centers around electricity and her ability to make gadgets or electrical devices become at it's most powerful- can cause electrical shocks to her enemies if she plays her cards right
Hero name: CyberJen
Personality: Snarky, sarcastic, rude, no filter. She tends to start fights, but that's because she'd rather be on the offense rather than the defense. Jen hates pressure and is a free spirit
Looks:
Bio: Jen was born into a pretty high-class family. They barely let her have a childhood, they were breathing down her neck, anticipating the moment she developed powers. Jen was friends with C1 up until her parents whisked her away from the friendship and into a life of training, solitude, and homeschooling. During this time Jennifer basically mastered her powers, and became really good at tech and gadgets. She doesn't know how to deal with other people or socialize properly since she came out from solitude, so Jen defaults to being... well, for lack of a better term, a rude b----. She doesn't understand the concept of boundaries. -

Quirk: Hinata is able to give people vocal commands, however it’s entirely dependant on emotional level, and singing works the best.

Looks: Hinata has heterochromia. One eye is completely lavender, and usually covered by a medical eyepatch. The other eye is cerulean . Their hair is white, however the tips of their hair is lavender.They are 5”11 but very petite.

Hinata was already in class when the bell rang for everyone to go to their homeroom. They were wondering just who exactly their teacher was going to be. If they got lucky it would be a lower key hero, even their mother had warned them about getting the underground hero Eraser head.
Of course, that mattered less, if Hinata were to top the class they’d have to know their competition. -
Kylie yelped as she touched her locker the metal burning instantly. “Oh no... no no...” She whispered, putting the inside-out oven mitt back on her hand as people laughed at her. She took a deep breath before trying to put in her combination with the oven mitts on. Eventually, she got frustrated. Wiping tears from her eyes, Kylie walked down the crowded halls to her class. “Well Kylie... You wanted powers... Now you got them...” She sighed, knowing she’d have to find a way to somehow control them.

Jen walked confidently through the halls to her class. She had no intention of rushing, even if she turned out to be late. This was the first day at a public school, and she wanted to make sure that everyone knew her name and that she had a 'dont mess with that chick' reputation. Along the way the saw some girl get burned by their locker, and Jen snickered at her, which egged on others to laugh as well. She didn't get a good view of the girls face, just her back.
