Asher smiles at Youta as he was kissed. No, not Youta, but Apophis. His hands started shaking. He didn't know how to deal with this. Asher was dating someone notorious for eating hearts, sitting next to him, having a pleasant conversation like it was nothing. Someone he'd been fighting for years.
..It was still Youta, though, wasn't it? Asher fiddled with his long hair. Despite everything, it was still the man he fell in love with. This revelation shouldn't have to change anything.
Asher became alarmed when Youta looked at his phone and tensed up. Asher looked over Youta's shoulder and at his phone to see what had gotten him upset, and was horrified to see a beaten up Vampyr, Damien, with a collar like he was some kind of animal. Asher stood up. "We have to go help him," he said without hesitation. -
Youta blinked at him, and then it clicked. “...it wasn’t these hands that caught me that first fine...was it?”he asks as he drags Asher to the bathroom.
Youta gets changed in record time.
“....it’s...it’s going to get bloody. The last time he was in their custody...he was...he was ....taken advantage off.” He choked out.
“ I can’t...I won’t allow them to harm my brother like that.” He said firmly. “ you...you don’t need to come if you disagree...but Vampyr is legit. He has a hero licence, we got it with the government. The DG are breaking the law by detaining him.” He said frantically -
"Hey, calm down," Asher said, pulling Apophis into his chest for a hug. "No one's gonna harm your brother, not on my watch. We should go about this smarter, we can't just run up to DG, guns blazing. We need a plan," Asher said. He clicked a button on one of his necklaces and his hero suit formed on him, thanks to some tech designed by one of his friends.
"I suppose you've figured out who I am by now," Chiro sighed. "I'll go first, I'm a known hero, they won't have a problem allowing me into the building. I can get the security shut off, you can come in, and we'll rescue him together," Chiro reassured Youta. "Someone also needs to watch the kids," he added as an after thought. -
Apophis looks back at back. “ I’ll call my sister.” He says, within minutes he gets a text back.
“ she’s already on her way to pick up the kids to watch them.” Apophis confirms.
“...let’s go. I don’t want him to stay with them any longer than he has to. He tells chiro, as he hugs him tight. “ Mecha said once we we’re inside she’s going to shut the power off. She said that will let me disable the collar,” -
"Alright," Chiro said with a nod. "How will we get there?" He asked. Asher thought that he understood now why Vampyr and Apophis weren't villains or heroes, and why the heroes have begun to work in shady ways. It all finally clicked.
Earlier on, he assumed that the villains had begun to consolidate, to start working together, but it was much more than that. The villains had a steady supply of tech, money, weapons.. they must've been working as a subordinate of DG. The thought sent shivers down Asher's spine. -
A portal opened up in front of them.
“ I’ll need to introduce you to my entire family when this is over.” Apophis hummed as he took Chiro’s hand.
Apophis entered the portal.
“...when we get him free, he’s going to be feral, please...don’t hurt him, I have blood packs in my belt, once he has one he should be fine.” Apophis promises gently. -
Chiro followed Apophis through the portal. In any other circumstance, he'd be thrilled to be holding Youta's hand. "I won't hurt him," Chiro promises. He let's go of Youta's hand and quickly walks into the building. "Good afternoon, Chiro," people greet him like any other day.
He turns a corner, and Victoria is heading straight for him, ready to yell at him for ignoring all of his missions and assignments. He nopes right out of there and loses her as he goes into an elevator and heads up to the security office. The head of security, Frederick, is sitting in front of the monitors and screens. "Hiiii.. Frederick," Chiro greets, trying to sound innocent, "You can take a break from here, I can take over," Chiro offers.
Fredrick sighs. "What trouble have you gotten yourself into this time, Chiro?" He asks. "Um.. well, I might've ignored some calls from Victoria, she's making me take over security as punishment," he says, not exactly the whole truth but it wasn't a total lie. Frederick nods at this and leaves the room.
Chiro sits down and starts flicking switches and pushing buttons, turning off alarms, cameras, motion sensors, etc. He takes out his phone and calls Apophis. "You can come in now, but be careful," he says. -
( I forgot that Apophis can teleport, so he can, shake the earth, regen, teleport and I believe he has phasing and not needing to breathe as well. Mother f---er.)
Apophis stealthily breaks into the area where Chiro is, having used his teleportation to imagine standing opposite his boyfriend.
The only issue is that he misjudged it, so they’re a little too close. His face heats up as he draws away.
“ where are they keeping Vampyr?” Apophis asks lightly.
“His abilities are blocked, but his passive abilities will remain, such as being able to see the monsters we can’t see...so they’re probably keeping him in a dark cell...I I need to get him out.” He whimpers as he tries to control his anxiety.
He swallows five food pills.
“...when all of this is over...I’m going public with my organisation.” He murmurs. “ I’m sick of the DG’s fake heroes taking credit for the hard work for others.” He hisses. -
Chiro jumps back in surprise when his boyfriend appears before him. He wished he could stand for a second and just appreciate how adorable Apophis was, but they didn't have the time.
"They should be keeping him down in the basement of the building, below the ground is where they keep holding cells for villains until they can be properly transferred to superjail," Chiro says as he clicks buttons on the elevators to reroute them towards the lowest floor. He needed to scan his fingerprints for access, that's how top secret it was. He was granted to get there, of course, for he was DG's top hero.

Apophis is slowly beginning to loose his cool. “...I’m,,,I’m so scared. The DG is powerful...while we’re technically legal, I’ve killed people, vampyr has killed people, were not your normal heroes...and the public will believe whatever the DG says.” He panics,
“...I-I don’t know if they’ll trust our organisation...vampyr has been doing stealth missions, rescuing kids since he went undercover...before the DG...Damien was just a piano player with abilities he struggled to control...he was shy, and he was sweet...and I don’t want them to unfurl him more than they already have.” -
"Don't worry, that won't happen because we're here for him now," Chiro says, just as the elevators open. The guard stationed next to the door at first began to smile when he saw Chiro, but then frowned at the sight of Apophis. "What is this?" He asked, incredulous, holding up a gun at the pair.
Chiro didn't have time for a long and drawn out fight, or for talking nicely. He summoned two hands, one to pull the gun away from the guard, and one that pushed him back with such force that he fell unconscious. "There's no good or bad, or right or wrong. Every person, every hero and villain, we're in a moral gray area," Ashe says, nodding, "Let's go." -
“ ah that’s so sweet, you’re protecting me like I’m some kind of damsel in distress,” apophis teased, as he briefly Naruto ran to where his brother would be.
Apophis has made up his mind, he would be going official as a public hero. Sure that meant he had to be more careful, but it also meant that if the DG did this, something could be done against them -
Chiro followed after Apophis. He led them to the place where Vampyr was being held, a cell with bars that had electrical currents in them, designed to minimize a person's powers.
"Stay here with him, I'll go and see if I can find a way to unlock the cells," Chiro says, heading back the way they'd came, to the guard's station. He had to hack into the computer in order to unlock the cells because he didn't know the password. He wasn't the best at hacking, Chiro hoped this little stunt wouldn't get them detected and caught. -
Apophis crouched nearby.
“ vampyr , it’s me, it’s your brother, you’re safe, don’t worry.” He promises to him lightly.
Damien is a mess, it’s clear that his attacker from last time had taken another shot with him. He looks at Apophis with such vulnerable eyes, Youta can feel his heart breaking.
“ we’ll get you to Sherrif. She’ll call you an idiot for the pancake stunt, everything will be fine..w-we’ll get you to Soleli. You’ll- you’ll be away from the DG, you’ll be safe.” -
Chiro successfully unlocked the cell bars, though he was careful to make sure that it was only Damien's cell, not the others. Didn't wanna accidentally let loose a group of supervillains.
He ran back to Youta, only to see him and Damien in such a sad scene that he wasn't sure if he should interfere. But it didn't matter, because alarms began to blare and red lights started to flash. "Darn you, Frederick," Chiro muttered
