“ hush.” Briar said, voice low. “ you need to relax, or it won’t work.” He said as he applied an elixir to the boys skin,
The purple eyes held a pattern of a constellation. Briar was certain it was the sea goats constellation but he was unsure, -
August Dimenichi NewbieOrion's breathing staggered for a minute, but he finally listened to the other man and relaxed a bit. He stared into Briar's eyes. "I never got your name." he whispered, as some of the pain seemed to ebb away.
-
“...briar, blackthrone.” He said quietly.
“ and you are.” He asked as he stitched up the others wounds -
August Dimenichi Newbie“Orion Heirgrave.” He whimpered, as he had never been stitched up before. He usually just waited for wounds to heal over on their own. “Are you... a forest spirit?” He said, voicing one of the many stories he had heard about these woods.
-
“ ,..of sorts.” He said gently. “ you’re in no state to leave, not yet.” He said as he went to the kitchen to get some mushroom soup.
-
August Dimenichi NewbieOrion attempted to sit up, wincing slightly. He looked around and tried to get a grasp of his surroundings. After all, he had no idea where he was.
-
“ careful, as I said, you need time t9 heal,” he said tenderly as he propped pillow behind Orion.
“ you can use my bed.” He told him as he set up the nearby couch for himself,
“Here’s, it’s mushroom and the bread has poppy seeds.” He said with a soft smile. The bread was freshly baked and smelt very fragrant -
August Dimenichi NewbieOrion stared at the meal placed before him. He couldn’t remember the last time he ate well. “Thank you.” he muttered, downing the soup and bread quickly out of hunger. “It’s very good.” he said, looking up into Briar’s purple eyes. “I can’t thank you enough, really,” It seemed Orion was finally getting a little strength back. He was still exhausted though.
-
Briar blushed. “ I ...I haven’t cooked for someone capable of complimenting my cook8ng in so long.” He said, eyes wet with tears, before they were quickly blinked away.
“ I’ll be doing my best to help you return to physical peak condition, but it will take a while.”he to
D him carefully “ you’re not trapped here, once you’re healed enough to leave, I can take you to the nearest village where you can go for help...but I won’t be able to help you from that point...the villagers wouldn’t....be pleased.” -
August Dimenichi NewbieOrion paused for a moment. “Can I just… stay here?” he asked. He had just escaped the outside world, and had no intention of returning. “I mean, you seem lonely…” he added.
-
Briar froze “ y - you mean it?” He asked hopefully. “ i-i would love that.” Briar said before calming down, “ yes, that would be suitable, just in case anything ever goes wrong with your treatment.” Briar said, clearly lying but it wasn’t obvious he was trying to cover for himself,
-
August Dimenichi NewbieOrion let a small smile creep onto his face, and then lightly shook it away. He wasn't supposed to feel those feelings. "Why, erm, why don't the villagers like you?" he asked, remembering what Briar had said earlier.
-
Briar seemed to be considering it. “ who knows. They just dislike ....oddities.” Briar said with a careful choice of words, not yet ready to reveal all of his cards.
-
August Dimenichi NewbieOrion recognized the evasion, but let it go. He didn't want his host to be mad at him, or wish him ill. And he definitely didn't want to be rude. "Okay." was all he said.
-
Briar then stood up “ Once you’ve fully recovered, I’ll ask that you assist me in a few simple chores, nothing too taxing, just a little cleaning every now and again, but you don’t need to.” He said gently,
