C1 and C2 were together for their entire teenage years, they were the popular couple and in C1's mind maybe together forever but to everyone else, C1 was a laughing stock. C2 had been cheating on C1 since the first week they'd been together and everybody but C1 knew. When they caught C2 on their anniversary C1 was heartbroken and devastated, they broke up with C2 and left the state and tried to never think about it again. Many years later, its late at night in their home when the doorbell rings. When they answer the door C1 is met by their old 'friend' C2 who is holding a sleeping child and they beg for help.
I have a little idea for more but its if you want a fantasy spin on it... -

So, the idea was that C1 and C2 are both humans but kids other parent wasn't ( the idea was originally them being a werewolf but it doesn't matter) and basically, C1's house is in the middle of whatever species territory and they didn't really like a wild child there just for another hint of drama...
